Don’t you think if he wanted an NFL job he would have taken one by now?

Too many variables involved. Was he absolutely ready to come back to coaching at the time? Was it the right team? If he is in as high demand as we think he is, he could probably be picky.

Interesting. Who was?

Not the time or place to just randomly throw players under the bus. I was just responding to the "K Washington was a cancer" statement that I see thrown around a lot. That is a popular and easy cop out from fans. I didn't like his "The Future" bit on Gameday any more than other fans. However, I do know that his teammates loved him, and he was one of the hardest workers in that locker room. It just aggravates me to see that statement thrown around.

That’s how I read what was posted. There would have been many ways to subtly distance yourself from Butch if you wanted to roll him under the bus.

All that said, it just doesn’t seem like the whole statement so important context could be missing.

sounds like a statement to protect themselves from Kendrick's lawyers.

Fair enough.

Got to disagree here. The fans couldn't stand his "persona", but the players loved that guy. He was NOT a problem in the locker room.

He was older and came in from minor league baseball...and as I recall, he did have some influence on the other players because he had insight into professional sports.

We have really poor sports media for such an active market. When you add to the equation how much control Butch has personally wielded with the media during his tenure here, it's almost unlistenable. True journalism is dead outside of alternative media.

There’s a new crime series on CBS starring Jeremy Piven built around using social media/devices. It’s the new media. Which is why when people come in here and blast you and others, I laugh and pity them because that’s the wave of future reporting. I actually believe Beav and others are connected more so than a Hubbs or Low because their sources are people no one would suspect is hearing anything much less, saying anything to anyone. Anyway, I find it interesting.

I agree with you. If you have a differing opinion you get told to leave or "gtfo". It's my personal belief he isn't coming and our so called insiders have been wrong from the beginning. I get that people wanna have hope but all these conspiracy theories are ridiculous in my opinion. So I'll revisit this thread later today when nothing happens and we can talk further. Have a good day my fellow Vol fans!

You are never belligerent ... and I enjoy your post, they help keep me balanced....

If Gruden is not hired, it will destroy me (as my life is not based on the internet) and it will not be the end of the world.... I disagree with you but I am not one to say those things at all.

But I do grow weary of the constant bombardment that many come in here and call us who do believe and have hope that Gruden will be out next coach such things as dumb, crazy, living in a fantasy world etc.

If your information is different than mine, present it but no need to be rude and try to incite a melt down, just for the fun of it.

These thing are not pointed to you but the others that she is referring to... Many who disagree post in here and bring great thought process... to me they are welcome

I wonder, if The Comb was limited to 10 "Gruden to the Hill" posts each day, how he would choose to use them.

After Cut left (the second time), Fulmer made a bad decision in hiring Clawson as OC. He went against his own judgment and hired an outsider based up on all of the external complaints of "we need new blood" and that led to his downfall.

Hamilton brought Clawson in...

Clawson needed another year, he turned out to be a good coach.

Keeping Fulmer would have been like having Les Miles in the East. (who won a National championship with Chavis) Hamilton screwed up.
