Well my gosh. The night shift was busy. I woke up with a note from my wife that made me smile and after catching up I'm still smiling. Hope you all have a good day. :hi:

Good morning! I wanted to quote something you wrote, but not your dissertation. Here are my thoughts on that:
-obviously, good, meticulous work. I'd expect no less.
-as I've said many times now. There are wildcards, but Gruden's not one of them. I can immediately dismiss any report about "He said no." It simply isn't true.
- talking about the war between boosters and admin. I don't think it is an accident that we get bad news at the same time each day. The admin side is attempting to do what the boosters have done with Bubba and MIT, except the admin is using people in the office with other stuff to do. MIT and bubba are watching everything we say. I believe they are hired professionals, in some way.
- the Haslam stuff reminds me why I don't want to be in politics. I don't want to need to scratch anyone's back. Ever.
-perhaps you are right that he caught wind of bev's decision on outsourcing. I'm hoping that yesterday evening's flurry of activity demonstrates that it is simply the first chip to be cashed in. I'm convinced that hubbs tweeted that because he was told to. I believe it really may have been the white smoke from the chimney.
- I know that the Haslams and the corkers are connected politically and personally, but I'm not sure that corker's presidential bid is a factor here. I just think the Haslam name can't be drug through the mud because of anyone's future in politics.
-PM adds value in so many ways. He is an instant unifier in any contentious negotiations. Plus, he is able to provide sweat equity that is of greater value than his monetary donations might be. Add to it that he is a scarabbean and his clout grows immeasurably.

-last night's message from the Beav really was a gift to me. I said yesterday that the Beav speaks to those that are here for hope, and bubba speaks to those that are here for the problem solving. But the Beav spoke to the problem solvers last night. What he was saying, really, is that the boosters have pocket aces for each hand of poker they are playing/each primary stakeholder. The AA cannot walk away from a deal that includes a VC firm in silicon valley funneling research to a school that aims to be a top 30 public research university. As a graduate from the college of engineering, I appreciate that the boosters brought in this piece.

The boosters have quite literally thought of everything. This is why they are billionaires today.

Great summary!

Did you listen to the drive yesterday? Toward the end of the show, it seemed to me Russell was alluding to something but quickly changed the subject.

I got the sense he wanted to put out some info but stopped short.

You talking Gruden info?

Naw. Missed it yesterday. Had a conference call that lasted wayyyy too long. Smh. I’ll get to listen today as I’m traveling for work.

Something happened yesterday. We may or may not getting an announcement today. Either way, be prepared for the ambush from people who are info feins and need something new and shiny every 5 posts. My snowflake rating is ready to roll. ❄️👊🔜

Just messing with ya. I'm always on mobile and my phone autocorrects to some of the weirdest chit.

I send some messed up stuff sometimes. I love when my phone autocorrects an actual word for what amounts to just syllables. Technology... Ain't it Grand

Give the another pants chance?

I believe some posters might want to apologize to oldvol, DTO, and docvol. Yesterday was a good day.

No idea why people are giving DocVol a pass. Dude was as wrong as you can be on a prediction.

And how was yesterday a good day? With radio silence coming from the media?

If anything the insiders are predicting is going to happen, the media is going to have to report it AT SOME POINT.

That's still the hang up for me, if all this has gone on, no one knows about it? Or if they do they're not reporting it.

I don't see how something this big couldn't be found out by someone in media, but if they're sitting on it the question is why?

I can see ESPN not wanting to, but I can't see why other news outlets wouldn't.

I guess I'm gonna be on the fence until I see either an ESPN crawl breaking news with UT info or one of the other sports networks breaking it.

Google “Castor Ventures”. See if that helps you believe. Hint: read the bottom of the page in the dark area. See if that helps convince you of the truth being brought on this board.

Holy sh**. I’ve been lurking for a while but seeing this blew my mind enough to finally post.

That’s cause they don’t have Hawk, Hear for Grumors and SDF on their staff!

Seriously, they aren’t going to report until they have for sure status. They won’t put their reputations on the line in the off chance that this doesn’t work out. Lots of people burned in 2012. And you have to factor in who their sources are. They truly may not know.

So the theory is that the VC involvement is basically a counter balance in funding for the academics so the AD can move forward financially with athletics?

The Beav came in last night and confirmed that the vc's interest is to funnel research opportunities to the university. It is an invaluable resource to the academic side. Presumably this is to counter balance "perceived or realized inefficiencies suffered" from the deal.

Go it.

I’m going to put my boots on today because this chit is getting deep.

And when I looked up Castro Ventures, my jaw hit the ground. Lol

Basically, it's the pocket aces for that part of the deal. The very public aim is to be a top 25 public research university. This creates a remarkable opportunity to do that.

Bev couldn't say no even if she wanted to.
