Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

Exactly. There’s something going on we don’t know about. Look at Florida. They release a statement of support, then say their looking into it, then they fire him. Ad comes out and says they will look for a great candidate yada, yada, yada... typical AD stuff... look at our situation.
No one has said anything. Of any substance. Currie hasn’t said a word (he said a lot but didn’t say anything). No coach has ever survived after losing to Ky until now. I don’t know what’s going on but it’s something.

who was the coach in 84(?) when we lost to KY?
didn't dooley lose to them in 2011, and coach in 2012?

just sayin ...

Yes ... I was told last Christmas from a reliable usually tight lipped University source that "they were not sure Butch is the man to take us to a championship level". It's been in the works prior to Currie being hired even.

Negavols have been saying this since 2013.

Doyle's Grudometer is at 20%.

I'm still holding onto a little hope simply because I cannot believe that our AD is as stupid and inept as he appears to be right now. There has to be some sort of method to his apparent madness.
Right?
Please tell me I'm right.
Something is cooking. Only a select few really know. The rest of us are guessing.

Dooley lost to ky in 2011 and he came back for 2012.. correct me if I'm wrong..

yeah but that was what his second year?

People said the same thing then that they're saying now about Jones in year 5

Two years is not enough time to see if he can get the job done. That's literally what everyone said.

Year three it was after the Vandy loss, which oddly was before we played KY. So really no coach survives losing to Vandy

Sunday afternoon/night i finally got it ... that this situation is fluid, ever changing.

what's true right now, at this exact moment, may not be true 5 minutes from now.

that makes it hard to go all in and believe what "insiders" tell us, and it makes it hard when what they told us doesn't pan out. it doesn't mean they were trolling.

this situation has more moving parts than a car.
i believe that, as long as all parts hold together, we'll arrive at the destination we're all hoping for.... Grudenville, TN.

if at any point, something flies apart, then the whole deal does.

the sooner people learn and understand the fluidity of this situation, the better they will cope with the "insiders."

This guys gets it.

Good morning, Grudaholics.
Anything changed or is everyone holding steady?

The more I read, both positive and Negative... I tend to believe that this has a good possibility of happening!

I believe that Gruden HAS said yes to a Boosters ONLY offer, I believe that the AD has not fully gotten on board yet.. much of his reluctance depends upon what Haslam does or says and I also believe the Admissions and Academic side are not fully on board yet. I believe thus the reason for both Beaver and Bubba to try and put pressure on the naysayers..............

The one hope I have is the Boosters learned a hard lesson from the failed 2012 campaign and should be better at doing what they do............

My percentage holds now at 70% that it could happen

They read Volnation. Lol

Seriously, that article couldn't have take 10 minutes to write.

Does anyone have original thoughts anymore?

Clay Travis talked about it on his show this morning (yes I know he has before...and he is a goof). However, it gets it out in the national media. The point of the post was the link to the out take from Clay's show this morning.

I'm not saying he's a troll but this particular incident was indeed a troll job. When nothing happened yesterday he replied "it's what you wanted to read in to it" or something similar. He didn't say he got bad info or that maybe things changed since he got info, so that tells me something about his intentions when he posted it over the weekend.

Like I said, we can be full grude, and we can also call things for what they are. We don't have to believe all things grude even when we know they are false.

I think that's a pretty level headed approach.

I completely agree with this and don't understand why the situation can't be viewed pragmatically by all here.

There are probably hundreds of people who comb these threads and don't post, but are waiting on bits of news, bits of hope.

OV, I have always seen you as an insider--right, wrong, or indifferent. I'm confident many others have as well. People were mislead, whether on purpose or by accident, doesn't really matter at this point.

I am 100% confident that those of us discussing this do not mean any harm to each other, and we are all 100% "Gruden to the Hill". We just don't want people that come here looking for hope in a very tumultuous time in our program's history to be mislead.

Please don't lynch us for having an opinion!

Also we cannot sit idly by and let these academic elites take over our university and burn down our athletics. It sounds like the boosters and former players are all doing their part now we the people need to stand up too. What can we do to get their attention- empty Neyland is one but what else?

Did you listen? Did he call Haslam out?

I heard someone say it on the broadcast. Majors I believe. I guess I took It literal. Thy meant you don’t lose to Ky and survive. Maybe it was Vandy. I retract my statement! Lol.

Uhm, Dooley wasn’t fired after losing to Kentucky. He survived almost another full season.

This is the essence of a delusional thread...and on it goes. Read his lips...Jon Gruden doesn't want the UT coaching job.

Did you miss your blue font? You do understand that it is a university don't you?

ooooh calm down, it is a school first and foremost after all. I am not a fan of "empty Neyland". These kids deserve better than that and think of the impact on recruiting. VFL means through thick and thin!

I thought Haslam was on board with Gruden? This goes back and forth,is he or is he not on board with this plan? I have said many times he and his son (BOT) would be critical supporters. Does anyone know the answer???
