Maybe for a traditional hire. It has already been pointed out the various departments affected who need to sign off on it. This isn't the status quo hire.

Oh I definetly agree. My opinion is even if he didn't need it, with as deliberate he's been so far he wouldn't do anything before at least discussing with them.

I was just pointing out the fact Hubbs made that comment.

You don't have evidence that Bran is the Night King. The most you have is fan speculation and conjecture. isaac hempstead wright, the actor that plays Bran, as well as G.R.R.M himself, and Dan and Dave (the makers of the show) have publicly flat out denied that Bran is in ANY way the Night King. There are fan theories that make zero sense, given the facts the show and books have said. In the show, it actually shows the human, one of the first men, being turned into the Night King by the Children of the Forest. That Human was not some random human Bran warged into, making himself the Night King. It was an actual person that was one of the first men, thousands of years ago that was at war with the Children of the Forest. Bran is not the Night King. Never has...never will be.
That theory is one of the dumbest out there.

Just read where Gruden makes 6.5 million in his ESPN job. That means that UT would probably have to pay him 7.5 to 8 million to come to UT, which I think would put him in the top 5 for college coach pay. Seems like a lot of money to pay a coach who hasn't coached in 9 years and had a 54% winning percentage, about the same that Butch has at UT. This would not be a smart hire for that amount of money, but if they do make the hire, I would hope the contract has a performance specification that significantly limits his buyout if and when he only averages winning 7 or 8 games a year. Paying these huge buyouts for mediocre performance is getting ridiculous, not the way it should work.

He has a 100% winning percentage in college

Dilly Dilly!

Enlighten us...since you apparently know what's going on inside the AD.

...I never claimed to have any inside knowledge? I'm simply saying, our AD wouldn't be passive and just take a $5M hit square on the chin for homecoming coupled with weeks of horrible PR while Florida soaks in the national spotlight. Imagine this on the crawler on ESPN Saturday night:

"University of Florida allegedly finalizing deal to bring Chip Kelly back to college football. Deal would make Kelly the highest paid...(blah blah blah)..."

followed immediately by:

"University of Tennessee sets all time record low attendance for homecoming game against Southern Miss., AD backs Butch Jones and states he will finish season as head coach."

Not only that, but it's a nationally televised game...they'll literally have nothing else to talk about for the better part of 4 hours but an inept AD and massive embarrassment to the University. You really think our AD would CHOOSE that option, the option that will likely lead to his firing, if we had ANY other options???

Oy vey.

Getting a name like Gruden would be very beneficial for the University. You know Gruden would have top assistants which would help vastly with recruiting and coaching guys up. Season tickets and merchandise would flourish. He would basically pay for himself. The problem is Gruden is an NFL guy and I think he stands true to what he said back in July. All the "insiders" keep stringing this along and people are eating it up...almost like nobody learned from this BS back in 2012 when all the same things were being said. As it stands right now..today..there is no deal with Jon Gruden and nothing has been agreed to. Could it? Maybe...but the ones that are saying its a sure thing or a secret deal is already in place are playing your emotions like a puppeteer to enjoy their little bit of popularity. Cold hard facts...but facts none the less.
Flame Away....

Sarcasm. I like It!

Anyone in here ever watched Game of Thrones? 😬

I don't understand the hate for the off topic portions of the Grude thread, I find it entertaining.

I agree. Especially since it is a 100 percent fact that you can go thru the Gruden threads and constantly find people talking about stuff that is not related to Grumors. Some of us starttalking about GoT and 10 posts later we get asked to make a new thread.

I hate to be a downer but wouldn’t Gruden want an NFL job over college if he wants back in coaching? I am starting to feel like we’re being trolled.

I’ll kick my own self out...

That's always been my philosophy too. But my family all stopped donating, gave up season tickets that had been in the family for over 45 years (section U row 23), and have refused to support the administration since 2013.

As much blood, sweat and tears that my family and friends have left on that field and as much money that we have given to that University over several generations, we just can't bring ourselves to support the administration any longer until positive changes are made.

We try to go to at least a game a year and been on the fence for a couple years about buying season tickets. Just can't pull the trigger with the state of the program. Plus two young kids makes it even harder but it will happen soon

I get that. Hopefully it will be better... soon.

For now, I'm out. Bedtime. Later all.

Wights can't swim. Neither can Whitewalkers. Wights sure as **** can enter the water and not die by being in it. They sure can sink to the bottom, tie chains around a dragon that sunk to the bottom. Then after the dragon is pulled up, you got a few wights stuck on the floor of the lake. Plothole solved.

I buy that. Never really considered it a huge plothole in the first place though. They're basically puppets and the Night King has over 100k of them. I assumed he figured something out.

Which of course ties back into..you guessed it..Castor Ventures..whis is connected supposedly to Bubba..which is why Bubba knows about PM and the KH. Circle complete. Cheese please

Please remember the purpose of a venture capital fund...hint - it isn't a non-profit....
