It could be something major, it could be something totally minor. What I would say, from my experience, is that the people who need to be working on it are definitely working on it.

We're impatient and want things NOW. But, the people working on the deal are humans, just like. They have limited ability and bounded rationality. In addition, there are severe NDA's, and limited access.

Perhaps they are waiting on budget projections, policy rulings from the NCAA, an academic board meeting, or maybe someone just asked for two days to think about it.

Butch is ultimately as good as an interim, and future looking people are losing concern for the present. To use another poker analogy - Don't throw good money at bad.

In this era, information and opinion moves fast. Once it drops, it'll change overnight - no matter how long we wait. In six months, it won't matter whether he was announced tomorrow, or Nov. 30.

I do have a suspicion, based on a mostly overlooked ATL post, that there are boosters and UT staff working behind the scenes to try and judge how many recruits we lose by waiting. There's a game theory analysis and CBA that is done. If the risk is less than the gain of time behind the scenes you delay as long as possible.

Controlling the spread of information can absolutely not be undervalued.

In regards to Butch I'm starting to feel like Richard Dreyfuss in 'What About Bob'. The part where he opens the door and Bob is still standing there. "Is this some new form of radical therapy?".

Right. I must have missed this, but I've heard people mention Gruden being confirmed to come for the game this week, where/who confirmed this?
