HeartforGrumors makes a ton of sense that it's probably more than just one persons decision, but I still can't understand why things were seemingly moving last night and then stopped. What or who stopped it? Which caused UT having to trot Butch out today for a ridiculous press conference. It would be great if MIT would show up soon,has he been active at all today?

Tying in with the MNF/NFL Grumors here and speculation that Gruden isn’t pleased about the current pregame activities going on, I caught a snippet on ESPN earlier that DoD isn’t renewing it’s NFL partnership package. This is not only a pretty large financial hit to the NFL but also a bad optic and it doesn’t appear to be mil funding related.

Yeah, this is relatively unprecedented. It wouldn't surprise me if a few high level NCAA attorney's have been drafting policy statements for this exact reason. Answering some version of the question, "When can a prospective NCAA coach announce his employment when he is currently working for a major sports media outlet?"

It's uncharted waters, and I'm fascinated.

In this era, information and opinion moves fast. Once it drops, it'll change overnight - no matter how long we wait. In six months, it won't matter whether he was announced tomorrow, or Nov. 30.

I do have a suspicion, based on a mostly overlooked ATL post, that there are boosters and UT staff working behind the scenes to try and judge how many recruits we lose by waiting. There's a game theory analysis and CBA that is done. If the risk is less than the gain of time behind the scenes you delay as long as possible.

Controlling the spread of information can absolutely not be undervalued.

What a day. I just finished reviewing. It was a clear Invasion of the Troll People earlier. So many sad pathetic individuals that get enjoyment in their bitter little existence trying to rain on others parade.
To those of you who provide info, I say thank you. I am in no way connected to a thing and do not claim to be. So I appreciate it when you guys and gals share what you know or have heard. However, the same game theory approach applies to all who have a say in the decision. It should be a win-win, if they can "not confuse a want and a need."

I claim no knowledge from the inside (although I have a relative who should be able to get info from high up and refuses to do so). But, the recruiting halt should be a clue to all those chomping at the bit to run Currie out of town that more is going on there than is being said openly. Common sense alone should tell you that.
