Changed it a little.

I'm not there, but I'm not completely blowing it off. Why? Because I don't completely trust your boy Currie and I don't know wtf is going on.

I still love you bro. :)

I’m very fond of you. Let facts happen...they’re going to anyway.

So the athletic department is supposed to give the academic side money?

See that is the opinion of someone from academia because they are used to the world giving them everything. They are privileged. Those of us that work in the real world and earn our keep understand what it takes to earn that money.

The athletic dept feeds revenue to the university. Yes

Too much empty analysis based upon what WE want and when WE want it.

Everybody needs to relax. If Currie wasn't busy fixing this, don't you think we'd have heard a bite of confidence from him sometime since the Florida game? Georgia game?

Butch is gone, has been since Georgia....when is a matter of what is best for the deal being made.

No. Sry, there is nothing to buy into any more. Not making a public statement atbtjis juncture is very bad business and the fact they haven't made a move reinforces the Gruden detractors. If he was a deal then a move would have been made already. It looks very likely they won't be saying anything tomorrow either per Hubbs who made a formal request for response from Currie and it was denied.

Butch will be here against southern miss. This is getting out of hand and Currie as well as TN looks pathetic

I’m genuinely about over this ****.

There is far too many other things I could be doing with my time than watching a ****** football team coached by a gas station manager whos blank face looks like he’s doped up on Prozac.

It’s hard to imagine, at this point, what advantage anyone could think of for holding onto Butch Jones. The negative PR this program is absorbing right now is so great that any possible snag or details are almost meaningless in comparison to the need to sh!t-can this f****ing moron to cut the bleeding and start the healing.

Close to just picking an arena football team and calling it a day, because between this joke of a team and the side show the NFL has become..... I genuinely almost hate the sport of football at this point.

I’m teetering man. 15 years in this abusive relationship haha. And it’s kinda hard to care.

I doubt it but can you imagine a Kiffin coached team beating the socks off of our latest MAC up and comer hire in Neyland?

I can see that happening . I just think he’s his own worse enemy . Great offensive mind but he just can’t stop himself from being well him .

I understand what you are saying, but it is a major university, the flagship of the state. Booster funding not withstanding, a university can exist without athletics, but the athletics cannot exist without the academic part.

I don't think this is about academics expecting handouts. The academics are the ones that eventually become billionaires that continue the circle of funding. The athletics simply cannot exist without the academics.

Just got this feeling that Florida is gonna screw their new hire up bad. Big business is very slow meticulous process. They are going too fast.

Email, call, tweet, do as you wish. As a state institution or as a business, these people should know how you as a consumer/fan feel. I would suggest being firm but professional in your correspondence. “Farruh Butch and harrauh Gruden” isn’t exactly going to cut it. The most effective way to get someone’s attention is through their pocket. Let them know without viable change you can no longer support their choices financially.

JAV seems to have all but given up on Gruden as of late....

“Everyone has an opinion about the timing of letting CBJ go. That has been going on since the UF game. It isn't as if he lost support last night, that has been the case from a majority of people that matter for a long time, some as far back as '15. I see both sides of the argument for keeping him until the end of the season and gong ahead and ending it now. If it were me, I'm sending him on now. I tend to like to move on quickly if things are obviously not working. There is some thought that Butch is still the best bet to get them to a bowl game and therefore have a better shot at a good job that will mitigate his buyout. That's a risk reward situation that you have to look at and see its merit. There isn't anyone on staff right now that could interim outside of RG. There are serious issues between coaches and that would just explode if anyone else were to take that role. That ties Currie's hands with an interim role to a high degree. I'm of the opinion that Coach Fulmer could come in and help stabilize that situation with the agreement that he's only interim, don't think he would want to be a full time coach again anyway.

Everyone has kind of lined up and said if you can get Gruden you try. I still am very doubtful that will happen but you have to try and that is ongoing. That said, there's been research and some limited vetting through 3rd party contact with other candidates, some of them you've heard, some you haven't. It's very likely that there won't be a hire until December and this class will have to be what it is. Money isn't going to be an obstacle for anyone with merit. There are a bunch of good options out there and it will be interesting who shows interest among those who haven't been mentioned for whatever reason. I think that there will be significant interest.”

Channel 8 here in Knoxville just started running a breaking news crawler at the bottom of the screen. I thought it was Butch related at first, but it's announcing McElwain has been fired. Got my hopes up for nothing. Back to my regularly scheduled self-loathing and questioning why I'm a Tennessee fan.

I am brother. Sometimes I just think out loud. I'm actually further along with this than it seems.

Maybe we can get around to discussing sometime.

Then we need to get rid of the douche Haslam. Conflict of interest.

Really? You think UT is going to drive off their biggest benefactor, just because some of the fan base wants Butch fired yestesday, so we can hire Gruden, who has made it known in the past, he doesn't want the job. Riiggghhhhttttt...

Problem is he wont. We wont.

I agree. Just trying to find some explanation for the silence of the AD. Everyone in the world believes Jones should be fired, yet nothing happens. An agreement is supposedly in place but no one really knows the terms. Currie is apparently prevented from doing the obvious by something. Maybe the agreement has triggers that have not yet been met to force him to resign mid season (seventh loss, or whatever)
