I'm in the minority here, but I think Chandler is better than Kelly.

Excited to see what he can do with the bulk of the carries.

Not yet. Ceiling higher because he can house call at any moment but he doesn't have the power and fight of Kelly yet. Chandler is his own style. Jordan seems a lot like Kelly

In this instance, it kinda does.

It depends on what authority he has been given by supervisors. If they want all marijuana cases charged, then he doesn't have a choice. If patrol officers have been given latitude, then it was his call. These are usually decisions made by people higher up in the police department.

If he wins out, Currie will bring him back. If he wins out minus LSU, I could see him back. Jmo.

I can't see him coming back under almost any imaginable scenario, even winning out. He's over it, the boosters/big $ guys are over it, the team is over it and the fans are over it.

Even beating a bunch of average to below-average teams isn't going to change the pulse of this board, is it?

My point exactly.

They screwed up, but the officer is the bad guy.

Policemen are people, so you run into some who are total jerks. Most are decent guys, though. I have been pulled over by both kinds, but most were fair. If you broke the law, and ultimately got cited, not the officer's fault. Also, if you are going to ride around and smoke weed, make sure all your lights are working.

Other UT players weren't suspended a game for similar infractions. So either this was a repeat offense, there were undisclosed circumstances or CBJ elected to suspend them for personal reasons. The AD generally allows the coach to handle this internally, unless suspension is a matter of policy.

I think perhaps he felt he had posted a little too much. I do not think that was his wife posting but was BB. It sounded like he was someone off his rocker like Vol Lady was and all of what he was posting before was the same gibberish. That is what he wants us to think. However, I think he was legit and had posted too much and someone told him to fix it. That coupled with him being gone. I think he will be back after a hire is made but maybe not or not as bald biker. Shame really if he never comes back.

Would be a shame but he will come back. It just might be after we have a new coach. I don’t think it was his wife either but hey, volnation never ceases to amaze me lol.

The cynic in me thinks this, but I keep circling back to Currie not extending Butch last year. If Butch had gotten an extension last year, then I could see Currie feeling like he's boxed in financially.

However, it's hard for me to not interpret Currie's power play as putting Butch on notice after the way the last season collapsed.

If Currie is the bean-counter we think he is, then losing out on the New Year's Day bowl money had to sting.

Any chance Currie is tired of seeing the inmates run the asylum and has taken matters in his own hands to send a message, that this isn’t the standard of tolerance at TN?

Who cites our star player for some pot? Write him a ticket for a busted headlight and throw that stuff in the ditch. Come on fuzz.

Sounds like they wasn't honest and upfront about it (neither of the two claimed it). Had they been honest and told the cops where it was they may not have gotten a citation, they're lucky they didn't get arrested.

Difference is that this was on a Tuesday during the season and it made the news.

Failing a piss test in June that nobody knows about isn't gonna get you suspended. Ending up in the news on a Wednesday before a game will get you every time. Especially when the season is lost already.

Not surprised they are suspended. Knew it was coming.

Not winning out and wouldn't bring him back if he did.

It's over for him here. Zero chance he comes back next year. It is finished.

Yes. Game over. If you are one of those “never say never” types, I would allow that there is an infinitesimally small chance that he could be retained if we started not only winning, but winning huge, and finished 8-4, plus a good bowl win, and the energy around the team just started to feel better. However, that ain’t gonna happen — it’s more likely that Bama loses out and Saban gets fired.
