I don't know the entire story but I do know the man isn't an acting AD now. That is an enormous red flag and very glad we avoided that.

The reason he's not an acting AD is because Haslem wanted him gone. DB did himself no favors by the way he handled things. He's not an AD at UTC because of politics not because of job performance. He shouldn't have went off like he did but I can understand why he did. I not posting how he was treated (Phil too btw) but it was very degrading and disrespectful.

Actually, you have to look past being a fan boy. Put down the Kool aid and look at facts. Then we can talk about being idiotic. 🤣

Edit: one more thing to consider, if you offer a Saban type contract and you don't get the result, TN fans with want his head. Just like some Michigan fans do with Harbaugh. Im just saying, I don't know if I would put all my eggs in an Coach that has done nothing in the college ranks.

He exibited some very poor lack of judgment on twitter and now is without a job. Seems pretty simple we got lucky. If he got a raw deal he should get hired any minute now. With his twitter skills maybe The Donald will hire him.

I am sure he was disappointed. Still can't lose your professionalism. Tells a lot IMO

Dan Mullen would be at least a B+ hire. I can't think of a box he doesn't check:

- Has been positional coach for both a #1 pick and a heisman trophy winner
- Has two national titles as an OC
- Has 9 seasons of HC experience in the tougher division of our league
- Sustained success at a lesser program
- Has been recruiting in the south for well over a decade
- is only 45
- Known for running a dynamic offense and having a solid D
- no significant personal or NCAA baggage

Honestly, he's a great fit guys. We'd be lucky to have him.

I worry about the NCAA stuff. I don't think he is squeaky clean.

Dan Mullen would be a good hire. He's not a home run, sure thing but a good hire.

Saying his ceiling is around 9 and bringing up things like recruiting rankings at Mississippi State is misplaced.

All JMO.

I think B+ is a perfect grade for Mullen. He’s a B+ hire. I just think we need an A+ at this moment. Kirby has GA rolling, Florida will get it right when Mac is done. We play Saban every year. If we don’t get this hire right we aren’t going to win any championships for a long time. That’s why Frost excites me more than Mullen. The guy just has future superstar potential. We would all have been thrilled if we had hired Herman last year. Frost is this year’s Herman.

Then two wrongs don't make a right because it was clear he acted unprofessionally as well.

Hopefully he gets back on his feet and back in the game but for now I am glad we have Currie.
