Kesling: we’re here at RJs in Alcoa right at the tip of the airport motor mile! Coach Gruden is here to join us for Vol Calls tonight. Coach.... a great victory over the crimson tide on Saturday - dominating on all fronts.

Grude: Well, you know Bob, it’s just what we do here at UT, man. These guys have learned how to get it done on the big stage... proud of ‘em, but we’ve got more opportunities this year to show the world what we can do. It’s a crazy feeling, man.

Nothing to add just wanted to quote .... cause I like it so:good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!:

No. There was an airline crash in Buffalo around 2013. FAA changed their rules on how many hours pilots needed to go to the airlines. Went from 250 to 1500 total, less if you have an associates or bachelors. Military trained pilots only need 500 total. Airlines can take a military helicopter pilot and for 30k train them at a flight school in a single and multi-engine airplane, then they're ready to show up for training at the airline.

When you figure renting a single engine airplane runs 125-150/hr a lot of people can't afford to get 1,500 hrs.

really think the prices need to be doubled or tripled for non military or /such as you are for safety reasons....

You're way ahead, though. You're inherently instrument rated and would ace that on a test/check ride. Aerodynamics are different with each aircraft, but c'mon, you're a pilot. One aircraft produces lift with thrust and the other with a pitched rotor.

I know I'm telling you nothing, but I can't help myself. I have always had a passion for aviation and considered pursuing a career as a fighter pilot after graduation. What gave me pause was the fact I was hearing from some classmates (USN Submarine nuke program) that aspiring pilots were being turned down at indoctrination. So, I'm working in what I went to school for, and I love what I do. That said, if I ever get $20-30Kthat I can afford to get rid of, I'd go private, instrument and commercial and fly for hire on the side. Anyhow, enough out of me... Thanks for your service!

C'mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out, DTO
Yeah, yeah, little DTO
Yeah, yeah, little DTO
Yeah, yeah, little DTO
Yeah, yeah, little DTO

That’s actually partly where my nickname came from.

Any reason to believe the one you speak of will find a way to blow this next hire up? Not sure why some of the power players can't tell him to kick rocks.

Well clearly he could...but like i said i don’t see it happening under these circumstances.

Gents about to start my decent so gonna hop off an enjoy the rest of my ride. May be around a bit tomorrow..

Have a Gruden night! :):)

You mean the hours required? Makes sense. It takes some time to be very proficient in an aircraft. Since they enacted the regulation there hasn't been a fatal aircraft accident from a US based carrier. The lower hour requirement for military pilots is because they consider us better trained.

Pretty sure he addressed that and said that individual would not have the chance to mess things up this time... Or something to that affect.

Well if he said that, then I like what I’m hearing from him better than what I hearing elsewhere. It would blow my mind that it could be done without that one, but there are several sets of deep pockets. Here’s to rooting for what Atlanta Vol is saying because I like his version better than mine.
