I just hope the end result doesn't change in order for it to be "proven" that it wasn't who they said it was. That is a real possibility to me. Especially if i'm fitting some of the bill and don't want what happened to follow me around.

Seems legit after yesterday's drama for sure. I apologized publicly for questioning his validity. Far be it from me to cast shade on another's sources. I know how that feels. I've always used those that post here and those I know to see what information matches up. A lot of his matches with stuff I'd heard early on....then he went much higher than my access.

I've said for days, my info had gone quiet and I'm along for the ride.

When crap hit the fan after 2012 many of them who today claim association denied they were in at all :cray:

Probably not as he was never around before all of this and we have some idiots that basically have ran him off. Some don't care that he was run off, but I feel for the guy as he was trying to share what he knew. JMO

Hey, I'm still all in like the rest of you, but just trying to keep everyone's expectations in check. Just a friendly reminder that if other Media outlets aren't reporting the same things that you're hearing, it's probably because 1 of those sources is wrong...and it's their job to not be wrong.

Personally, my expectations do not need to be kept in check just because I've convinced myself that Butch isn't leaving. But I do still have hope.

Also hoping the universe will reverse psychology me in the sense that if I think he's staying then he definitely will be going

Anything can happen until we introduce whoever the next coach is, no matter how solid a "deal" is beforehand. From everything I have seen and been hearing, we are in a much better situation with Gruden than we were 5 years ago.

I did change avi for a while simply because I got tired of mine but was at least a year after it came down

Uh, it's because this message board is usually way off base about things lol: It was being reported with certainty in 2012 that Gruden was being introduced as coach later today!......then next week.....Charlie Strong being named head coach LATER TODAY!!! (with pictures of the podium set up for a presser).........then.......oops.....Butch Jones named head coach according to UT Sports without so much as a rumor beforehand.

Good point.. I should've clarified that I was talking ab out rumors.

Username is key too if you plan to share "actual" information that people do not necessarily want to be public. That's what got me. I had no idea the level of tenacity people on the forum and others would show in finding out who one is in real life.

I think most on here we're trying to figure out his connection to validate whether he was legit or trolling. Not do much his actual identity. Someone mentioned a certain name and that's when he said to stop or he'd stop posting. Everyone stopped here when he said it. That dic* on TOS ruined it for all of us.

Once this is all over with...maybe lol. It was 5 years ago and I still text with several guys on here. I just don't post much anymore. People just need to be careful what they share especially if it is from a business relationship unless they are extremely careful about their anonymity. UT AD can be ruthless.

I've assumed that Matts is probably some guy named Paul, or something. Once you see him as Matt, your mind has trouble going elsewhere with it. If you want to be truly anonymous, you caught lay anything out there.

My thoughts as well..... many a deals have fell through at the last minute for various reason.... but that doesn't make MIT a troll even if it does/did


One thing that keeps from being 90% or more is he told DTO his information was running bout one day behind... Beaver was in west coast I think, seems if anyone would be one day behind information out of Knoxville it would be Beaver.

Long story short Beaver got Dox'ed on TOS by Hutch and tbey figured out who he or she was and he has since went lurking and all of his or her posts have been deleted. Beav was vetted by Atlanta Vol before he was Dox'ed and he confirmed Beav is legit and his info is good.

Wow. Things move fast around here. Thanks for the update, BO. It’s encouraging though that people seem to have vetted MIT and the info. Never a dull moment around here!

Everyone talking about writing books!!! I made a post (started thread but got merged) a few days ago how freak should make an official gruden threads compilation book combining this years and the 2012 threads together. I think it got lost in the pandemonium that is the gruden thread.

I also want to mention that just because Hutch threw a name out doesn't mean it was him. He didn't want any names being thrown out because he didn't want any problems to evolve for any of the names being thrown out because of his posts.

This is not attacking you or any who were trying to connect the dots as to who MIT was, but...........I don't understand the overwhelming need to try and play detective to find out if someone is trolling or if they are telling the truth. Its the internet and even if you knew a person was who they said they were, doesn't mean what they are telling you is correct or even truthful. The only way to know if a person is legit is with time. Have seen so many trying to figure out who MIT was and seen so many trying to discredit him because they thought he was fos, when there isn't any way at all to know until we see Gruden or another coach at a PC accepting the job. I think many just try to bend over backwards trying to discredit someone on here instead of just enjoying it and seeing is as what it is. Whether or not we believe a person like MIT is legit or think he's the biggest troll on the planet, has absolutely no bearing on what happens with our head coaching position in the next couple of months.




Hope you don't see that as attacking you because I really am not trying to.
