What if you could have a coach who's team is currently 7-0, coming off a national title, and has the following NCAA statistical rankings?:

Passing O: 39th
Rushing O: 10th
Total O: 10th
Scoring O: 5th

Passing D: 2nd
Rushing D: 18th
Total D: 2nd
Sacks: 8th
Turnover Margin: 10th

What if said coach also had deep roots in the south, is only in his mid 40s and currently has a base salary of only $300k?

Meet Mike Houston: James Madison University

What was the Beav news again?

He says that the Gruden deal is done. He doesn't know the timing of Butch being fired and that the boosters are making it happen because the academic side didn't want to do it. Others have been trying to figure out who he is.

Check out the UT flags in the picture below. This is a prime example of the far-reaching influence of the UT Volunteer brand. The picture was taken at Foxy's Tamarind Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. It's a remote outpost for boaters and expats to celebrate and/or drown their sorrows. The man in the picture is Foxy, a beloved figure in the islands. Of course, the BVI was decimated by the recent hurricanes. Foxy and the other islanders are struggling to reclaim their livelihood.

I travel extensively and am always amazed at the volume of UT Vol apparel I see in places like the BVI, Mexico, Jamaica, Canada, etc... It is criminal that this fine, loyal fanbase has been in the wilderness for 10+ years.

The current administration needs to get this situation right or risk damaging the brand irreparably.

No way

We haven't scored a touchdown since the Nixon administration and we're acting like Frost's offense, which is top 5 in every national category, wouldn't be good enough here? 😂

The amount of posters who still think defenses are super elite in the SEC blows my mind.

The question of “will Frost’s offense work” and “can he recruit” are so over blown.

That's the thing man: he doesn't hang those flags. It's totally customer-driven. They have a staple gun on the table and you hang the flags (or shirts or whatever) yourself. That tells you how driven and loyal our fans are. And I see it over and over, no matter where I travel. Our fans represent.

I won't post it outloud because i don't want weirdos facebook stalking who he thinks it is but if you can add and google he believes he named the Beav.

My 2 cents:

VC reopened to investment in 2016. The Beav has roots to Nooga and is a high level guy with VC. He has no direct ties to UT but is a member at the prestigous Nooga CC. Thunder or some large booster bought into VC by way of Beav. Gruden's deal and or Butch's buyout will be partially financed through these options/shares. The Beav and or Bubba are all part of it.

Can you post the cipher to crack the code on this?

I was just at a convention in Chicago, and a power T caught my eye at a vendor booth. It was a Canadian based sign company that cut metal signs that were used on the trash cans on campus. Thought it was cool!

Agreed, if he's number one, not good. Not a unifying hire for sure.

Unifying hire? Lol, the AD could care less what numbnut UT fans "feelings" are about the new coach. Get a coach that will recruit elite players and then prepare them to win games on Saturdays. Your excitement level about Frost (or insert in the blank) has nothing to do with what the AD is ultimately looking for.

There are 2 in this league that currently are. In the short future (at least) UT will have to beat one or both to win anything.

Frost may be the hire, and may end up being a great one. But the idea that he is any sort of guarantee, homerun is about as over blown as anyone saying they know he wouldn't be.

No, the brand is worth sacrificing to gamble on Butch possibility negotiating his buyout down a tad. We might be a laughing stock both locally and nationally, but that's a small price to pay for a slightly reduced severance package.

There is no homerun hire. The only ones who would qualify would be Gruden, Kelly, or Patterson, and they're not walking through that door.

Frost is about the best we could do given the circumstances.
