I keep posting this and I will continue to post it. If everyone wants jones gone then dont go to the game with So Miss . If there is only 60000 or 70000 fans in the stand then on Monday jones will be gone and the wheels will be in motion to hire a new coach. It always goes down that way Always. UT administration wont make a move until they see a large drop in attendance. This is a business to UT and it is ran like one. Everyone can go support the team after Jones is gone. I want a coach that can help our players achieve their goals and i don't think any of them signed up for what Jones is putting them through now. Currie has to man up and do what is right by them.

Oh I agree, that's what finally made them pull the plug on Dooley. Only problem is we need to send a clear message that if a knock out hire is brought in afterwards we still won't come.

They are just as likely to bring in whomever knowing the fans will return out of renewed hope in whomever.

People talk trash saying our fan base is terrible and wants to roll over at all turns, but we just gave a coach 5 years that we should have never even considered. Believed it would take time, All while we get curb stomped by coaches, one in their first year with a QB who should of been in high school(SC last year).

Personally, I think this is a factor but certainly not the single most important thing. Just one of many factors regarding timing.

With that in mind, would they be willing to up and move his son going into his senior year of high school? Obviously the wife and son could stay in Tampa until he finishes out but that would be a big deal if it were me.

Few things. Money is the first and foremost...the longer they let butch coach, the less money they owe him. Particularly if “he steps down” to save face.

No one knows what that MNF contract states, could be a factor as well.

Can’t hire a coach when you have one, so that timing has to be worked out, considering public school and that red tape.

My bottom line is, let this play out. If UT screws up, again, you’ll have plenty of time to hate the AD, etc. Currie and the lack of info/weird info when it does come, is telling in my opinion. There are far too many factors involved to be definitive as an outsider.

Gruden, or anyone for that matter, can’t say yes, officially, until there is an official opening.

The way I look at things...Firing Butch does now does nothing but create a bigger mess. If JG is already on board and in waiting....then just let Butch ride it out. I am sure (guessing) Butch already knows is fate. It would be unreasonable for him not too. When was the last time a college coach replacement of this calliber was named mid-season? Im gonna guess NEVER. Firing him and having Hoake take over isn't fair to Brady or the rest of the staff. Especially if Brady does well and then Gruden comes in and tanks...then we will be what ifing that for years! I am sure Butch does not want to make the situation any worse or stranger than it all ready is. Is it possible he is totally on board with the future coaching change and is just going to hand things over when the time is right (end of season). Lets remember...Urban Meyer wasn't hired until after the Michigan game. Announcing Gruden now would just throw a bunch of logistical knots in things. I do agree that everyone's silence is interesting. PJ Fleck is not going to leave Minnesota after one year, Stoops aint gonna coach, Brohm aint gonna leave Purdue after one year, and Frost leaving would be pretty crappy also. If Gruden was off the table...I think there would be some pretty believable leaks to that effect at this point and lots of them!!
