Not entirely. But the fans are fed up.

And rightfully so. I'm not sure how anyone couldn't be fed up with it at this point.

However, taking a huge steamer on something simply meant to highlight another group of equally hard working athletes is a stupid, disrespectful way to show it.

If Campbell beats TCU then his stock will go through the roof. He would have. Beat 2 top 10 teams in year 2 at a place not known for winning. Guy is legit and great at X and Os. I just don't think this is the place for him and his recruiting connections.

But here is the reality of it, the day after he wins our loses to TCU is he any better out worse of a coach based on that outcome? It's optics.

CBJ will earn a bonus for making a lower-tier bowl, but the buyout is fixed-- three full years plus this year pro-rated and paid in monthly installments. UT will be on the hook for an $8+M buyout; they're not quibbling over a $100K bowl bonus.

So he gets paid monthly and firing him now vs in 35 days would be the difference of one months pay? Period? Unless he makes a bowl and gets a bonus ofcourse.

Fuente

Doreen

Shiano

Mullen

Then Frost.

I googled "Doreen gif" and this is what I got. I would actually be ok with all on that list except Doreen.

Blocking scheme looks complicated. I could see it getting blown up in the SEC if not ran to perfection. Would probably take a year to get implemented.

Yeah I think he even mentioned in the article that last year they were limited to what they could do because they were still implementing plays/knowledge/etc. He credited his OL Coach for getting them to where they needed to be to run the offense effectively. No idea on how that will translate SEC wise but the constant pulling of different linemen and switching between blocking schemes would keep defenses on edge. Just have to execute. Then again, I am far from an expert on OL so who knows.

There is absolutely no scenario where bringing Butch back helps the program long term... someone please explain how? The locker room and respect is lost, we cannot do anything on the field, and recruiting is imploding.... how is any of that going to change for the better if we keep this idiot?

I'm skeptical of the "won't work in the SEC" viewpoint. We all said the same thing about Urban Meyer and Florida, and he beat the stuffing out of just about everyone, and is still beating just about everyone.

If you get good players and you coach them up, that scheme will work.

There really wouldn’t be any difference, not counting potential bonuses.

Either you pay him his regular salary while he is on staff, or he gets it in the buyout...the money moves regardless.

Aside from LSU, the teams that are left on the schedule aren't worthy of salvaging his job. If they are, then I'm done--and the majority of Vols fans should be too.

This school is too steeped in tradition and pageantry to be lowered to settling for wins over Mizzou, Vandy and Kentucky to "save the season."

Fulmer was let go mid-season after losing to Wyoming. We haven't scored an offensive touchdown in over a month.

Which is worse?

The buyout is fixed, subject to the terms of the current contract. He'll get his money either as a monthly salary or as part of the buyout package. If UT and CBJ part ways at some point, UT will pro-rate the balance due and roll it into a final payout amortized over the life of the contract. Terms are negotiable if both parties work out a settlement agreement; if UT fires him without cause, the contract will be fully executed.

I am not Sold on Doreen unless he finishes this season strong but he is ahead of Frost and other "up and comers" for one big reason. He has power 5 head coaching experience and if he wins another big game or two he will have won at a very high level. He like Frost and other lower level coaches won big at lower levels as he was 23-4 at Northern Illinois.

He's not at the top of my list but could be in a few more weeks. He's been a winner everywhere he has gone.
