If the Gruden deal is still looking solid, what do you all think of the "it's not happening" comments from the insiders Friday and Saturday? Is it possible that a few boosters were purposely fed bad info to help the AD determine who was leaking info?

Most if not all of those comments are coming from AD connected insiders. The opposite is coming from booster connected insiders. That's another intriguing thing about this.

You are in Cali where Dish HQs are. Charlie Ergen started as a card counting gambler. You just left Vegas. Is your source Charlie Ergen? Are you and Bubba connected? Are either of you related to the Ergens?

Ya know here's something for all the naysayers to think about... I'm talking to the guys saying Gruden can't recruit, Gruden can't coach in college, he was fired, why Gruden?

By your standards he would have never been qualified. Never recruited... never was a head coach at the college level... fired by two NFL teams... then went to USC... won two national championships... went to a couple Superbowls... won one.

Actually ... Bill Belichick, Tony Dungy, Tom Coughlin, and Mike Holmgren, all won Superbowls and have similar being fired stories.

Only negative to Carroll was the NCAA Heat he brought down on USC... I'm sure that can be avoided with the right staff surrounding the right coach.

So Gruden may be qualified and we just don't know it... lots thought Butch couldn't recruit in the SEC... So it can happen. I'd say at the end of the day chances are Gruden can get the job done if he wants the job.

Just looked it up and google says Thunder is worth 3.4 billion and Ergen is worth 16.7 billion.

Edit: Upon further review, 3.4 billion might be very generous. Can't find a consistent answer. Either way, Ergen is in another weight class entirely.
