No, Currie would not be hailed as a hero for hiring a mediocre coach who only won 54% of his games, doesn't want the job and hasn't coached in 9 years, much longer since a college coach. Why do you want to have UT continue in mediocrity? We need a proven college coach to take over, not another average one.

Define proven

I just can't understand why people are pushing for Gruden. My experience is that people who are in jobs they don't want to be in do not perform well, and he has said numerous times he does not want to be a college coach. In addition, he was only a mediocre pro coach (54% wins), has not coached in 9 years, and only has limited college coaching experience. I don't think he cares for recruiting, and has a good salary in his current job with a lot less stress than a college coach. It seems to me that only people who do not want to see UT return to championship football would want Gruden.

Noted. Butch rules

Your mother was right, you truly are special.

If the Gruden deal is still looking solid, what do you all think of the "it's not happening" comments from the insiders Friday and Saturday? Is it possible that a few boosters were purposely fed bad info to help the AD determine who was leaking info?

Just to answer a couple questions at once. Yes being connected to Ergen would be a good thing. UT booster, grew up oak ridge, founded Dish, and is worth about 15 billion.
For those that missed the Bubba entrance. He came about the same time Beaver came along and said he is at a venture capitalist firm in some capacity and was involved in a deal for Gruden to TN. Correct me if I got any of that wrong Bubba. What's intriguing about him is he's had his acct since 2007 and that was his first post. It came right when all of our normal insiders were bringing doom and gloom.

Watching some of you connect the dots on some of this is more entertaining and exciting than anything I have seen in awhile.

Keep it up, sleep can wait.

Certainly, if you want to continue diminishing the chances that an elite coach will come here...have at it. Our fan base is starting to make Alabama's fan base look tame.

I want Butch gone just as much as anyone, and just as quickly as anyone. But this thing has to let itself play out. The fans who are turning rabid on Currie don't know what they're talking about. It isn't like the AD is sitting at his desk playing solitaire all day. He's working on this. Let it play out. Heck, I don't want Butch coaching at Kentucky this week, but it's going to happen and there's nothing we can do about it. In the meantime, Currie is working on the problem.

The fan base is not the problem.

We have been patient and Currie better nail this coaching hire.

He's hoping week bye week, that Butch pulls out a win and he has not worked on anything else.
