Castor Ventures=MIT grads formed VC firm. Castor is scientific name for beaver. Bubba popped in same time as you and said he works at a VC firm in Silicon Valley negotiating a deal for Gruden to UT. You are in Cali where Dish HQs are. Charlie Ergen started as a card counting gambler. You just left Vegas. Is your source Charlie Ergen? Are you and Bubba connected? Are either of you related to the Ergens?

Alright guys and girls I am back from my round. To keep it short, Gruden deal is on still don’t know timing.

More detail:
You could do a movie on the politics that happened behind the scenes. Let me say this, if Currie wants to come and announce this whole Gruden signing like he was the one spear heading it then I will tell you now he is full of ****. The current academic administration at UT is essentially a cancer on the athletics program. If you want to know why we are a current dumpster fire then look no farther than the Academic administration and the halfwit AD’s they hire to be yes men. This deal was brute forced in by the Big boosters and power players of UT with a tremendous amount of friction from the AD and AA. Hiring Gruden will bring much more revenue to UT athletics than what his contract and Butch’s buyout costs (Look at Alabama and Saban). The economics easily work out in the favor of UT without Boosters footing the bill but the administration essentially made big donors pay every damn penny of the buyout and the salary increase that we are going to have to pay Gruden under threat of veto. Even then, the big donors had to vow to stop donating to UT if the AA wouldn’t accept Gruden.

Currie needs to put his ego aside and get the Gruden deal done.

I'm done basing Butch. He is what he is and Hart should have never gave Butch that crazy contract extension.

Currie should have fired Butch (ASAP) after the SC loss and now Currie and the AA, clearly is the problem.

Currie deserves all the heat he gets and he should have known what he was getting into, when he took the job.

One must remember that Currie was part of Hamilton's team that got this entire mess rolling and that scares me the most.

It's time for the fans to give Currie and the AA the beat down like Butch has received.

We have a total dysfunctional administration

I just can't understand why people are pushing for Gruden. My experience is that people who are in jobs they don't want to be in do not perform well, and he has said numerous times he does not want to be a college coach. In addition, he was only a mediocre pro coach (54% wins), has not coached in 9 years, and only has limited college coaching experience. I don't think he cares for recruiting, and has a good salary in his current job with a lot less stress than a college coach. It seems to me that only people who do not want to see UT return to championship football would want Gruden.

Castor Ventures is not directly involved. I've never met Charlie Ergen. I don't know who MITbeaver is, but I have a pretty good idea who his source is.
