Valid points if this team plays like it is now but winning the last 5 can't happen without players getting significantly better. A lot of this reminds me of ND last season. The difference is Butch doesn't have the same equity built up as Bk.

Yep. Today was rough. Mariota was off, WRs couldn't catch anything, and the OL couldn't seem to get anything going for the run game. I didn't think the playcalling was that bad. Just some really bad player execution. Hoping Mariota is fully healthy again after the bye week. He needs to keep 2-3 times per game to keep the defense honest.

Example: the D, especially in OT today was magnificent. The same D that looked like dog poop against the Texans.

Even if there is improvement, beating the remaining teams shouldn't buy any of that equity, even for next year. With the exception of LSU, these teams should be easy outs for Tennessee every year, and I just can't see a world where a team coached by Ed O shouldn't be a win. The time to win his way into coming back next year is over.

Very reasonable and intillgent opinion. I just think looking at the season as a whole will be very different IF and that's a big IF Butch wins out.

There were times today that the D had me fussing too then I look up and Cleveland only has 3 points. But they did gift us some interceptions from bad QB play. Could have easily lost the game and the browns are awful.

I applaud you and every other person who's a cubs fan. IMO, if you're a diehard fan of a team, you'll stick with them through all of the best and worst times no matter what. Not once in my 23 years of living have I ever thought of quitting being a Vols and Titans fan.

If they only win 9 games and miss the playoffs I am not going to complain. They are still rebuilding and developing players/depth. I will in 2018 if it happens again. That would tell me we have a real coaching issue. But the road looks good to get there this season if they will get it together.

Agreed. Still some holes in the roster but definitely on the right track with personnel. Will go as far as Mariota can take them this year. Hope Corey Davis is healthy after the bye
