-Tennessee’s 108 Offensive yards were it’s least in a game for at least 28 years

-During their touchdown draught of 14 quarters, the Vols have gained a total of 561 yards. Alabama gained 604 on Saturday

-Tennessee has been held under 150 yards total offense twice already this season. That didn’t even happen during the lows of the 2008 season (the Clawfence)

-Tennessee ranks last among all Power 5 teams in the nation (289.7 ypg)

-The Vols were 1 of 12 on 3rd down conversions vs the Tide and are now the worst in the SEC in 3rd down conversions

-Tennessee hasn’t scored a red zone TD in 4 conference games this season

-How badly does this team miss Josh Dobbs, Alvin Kamara and Josh Malone? The Vols finished in the top 20 last season in explosive plays (79 plays of 20 yards or more). They have just 19 such plays all season.....good for No. 126 nationally.

So your saying Tennessee isn't doing so well?

Butch knows his capacity to hire quality assistants is neutered. He'll be posturing for a buyout and clean break.

Some may say I'm not a true fan for telling this but my blood runs as orange as anyone's. In 2008 I flew to LA to watch my beloved Vols stomp UCLA. In case anyone forgot this turned out to be Fulmer's last year. On paper we should have stomped them but we played awful and lost in overtime. That flight home seemed to last forever. At that point I swore I wouldn't go to another game until Fulmer was gone.
I got my wish. Unfortunately that was the beginning of the UTAD's bargain basement search for a new coach. We all know what happened next and like a dumb a** I got all excited and made the trek to Knoxville with my 77 year old father to see the beginning of a new Era. Once again we managed to somehow lose to another sorry a** UCLA team. My father and I walked up and down those hills from Neyland to Fort Sanders heartbroken, drunk and pissed as all get out. That walk was the last straw. My father and I didn't even stay at our hotel in Knoxville. We drove home 5 hours. So disgusted we both swore once again that we wouldn't spend another dime of our hard earned dollars to see the ****storm that Tennessee football had become.
This time I kept my promise. Ten years and three coaches later I haven't been back. It breaks my heart and I miss Knoxville so bad but I just can't afford to waste my money on this garbage.
I know UT doesn't miss my money but if enough of us stop going then the AD will be forced to hire a proven winner! It's all about the bottom line to them. Sad but true. It's been too long Mr Currie!!! Time to pony up or risk losing many more like me. Tennessee is a top tier program, let's act like it finally. Sorry so long, just needed to get that off my chest. Maybe someone who matters will see this and all the other sad stories.

Serious question: How much of this is due to injuries to the O-line? I thought I read that 4 out of 5 of the starters are out, and they’re playing sophs and frosh in their place. Seems to me that could be part of the problem.

Is it funny or sad that all of this comes after Butch ran his mouth about all the strides that have been made and how we are better now than we have been in 20 years?

Its to the point you just have to laugh to keep from crying, right?!

And that my friend, falls right back on coaching! Injuries can happen to anyone but will good strength and conditioning coaches, we would have half as many injuries!! Look at how many we have had over the last 2-3 years compared to other programs

Wow. It’s really bad, for sure. I don’t understand the hesitancy. Does the AD think Butch’s offense is suddenly going to explode for 500+ a game? Surely they know how pathetic this whole situation is...

I doubt its ever happened.
Back in the early 60's( may have been 1960) Kentucky had a great quarterback and I watched them beat the vols in Knoxville. That quarterback put on a real show. My memory tells me his name was Ken Norton, but I may be mistaken. I would say they were favored to win that one.
