He hasn't had two 5 win seasons yet. Fulmer got his pink slip on his way to his second. Majors had 4...5 if you go with the wins credited to him in his final season, and 4 wins in his debut season. That's long and WORN as far as leashes go. :)

Dickey would have never put up with any of this crap

So in other words, our insider info is coming from this guy........

We had nothing to do with it

This man knows trolling. You should see some of his masterful work in the zone. Also given my proclivity to stir the pot, I have to conclude that the Beav isn’t trolling. He believes what he is selling. That goes against trolling. It’s too much effort for him to keep it up.

I believe him 1000%. He my ride or die chick

True, different times with Majors and he was a Tennessee son. Fulmer was a Tennessee son and won a NC and a lot of games, so he deserved the mulligan of 05.

Butch isn't a Tennessee guy and hasn't won much of anything except 2nd tier bowl games.

Actually, I’ve found the threshold for firing most coaches not named Will Muschamp, is 4 games below talent expectations. Butch is -2 this year, and that matches his first couple years here. Imagine this: If he wins out he would finish the season one game below what talent predicted. If he gets to -4 and isn’t fired, that’s when you start to really worry about the admin, in my view.

You all are putting too much effort into trying to figure out MIT, it will come out in the wash. Concentrate on the positives.......We have a band, a band like no other. Also, Volnation, have you visited other Fan Forums? No comparison this website rocks, has to be the envy across the country. Now that I've given you thoughts to build on, I need to step away from the computer for the night. Hope you all have a wonderful evening, as always, I've enjoyed my time with you today!!!

Been posting and reading VN awhile so I've seen a fair share of "insiders" getting chewed up and spit out but this MIT guy lol wow. He's fun to read. He's either a closeted Bama fan here to further torture us or he has no fs to give and doesn't care to show face. It's great either way

But has any of these insiders been right before? I don't read every single thread so maybe I've missed someone hitting a previous coaching hire on the head but don't recall it happening. Just curious

Interesting. This is what I meant the other night.

I'm leaving. Hopefully I will be a little less of a sh*t tomorrow, but no promises. We will be on XXI soon, so see you then guys and gals...

They may find an acorn once in a while. :)

I'm going to stick around for now.

In the deepest part of your gut don't you think the UT administration is scouring the dregs of the sun belts, macs, mountain wests, c-usas, etc trying to identify the next diamond in the rough?

I have no reason to believe we're not going to get another Dooley or Jones. We've put up with their mediocre results for so long that they have become acceptable.

I personally don't see any way that Butch will be HC in 2018. It was evident with how he coached the game yesterday. Anytime the camera was on him, not once did we see his face the color of Bama's jerseys. Even on the questionable plays/penalties that would usually have him looking like his head was going to explode. He remained calm and pasty white. He didn't resemble a coach that was expecting to be here another year. Even though my opinion really doesn't matter, I don't think he wants to be here anymore than we want him here. I think he is eager to do what needs to be done to get him and his family out of town as quickly as possible. Currie and Butch are just trying to work out all the legal stuff. The AD office is not going to show their hand at all until Butch is fired/resigned. I choose to believe that the back channels are being worked via the boosters and friendships with Gruden to finalize the deal so when Butch is gone all that has to be done is signing the dotted line. Maybe I'm living in a fantasy land, but I've been underwhelmed with the other names that have been floated around (ie. Frost, Fleck, Campbell.....). I have been a Tennessee fan all my nearly 40 years. I want my children to experience the excitement of what Tennessee football was in the 80's and 90's. So, until we know for a 100% fact that Gruden is not coming, I will be believing that he is the next HC at UT! GBO!

Says the guy posting in said thread....

I'm addicted to seeing Gruden coach here. I think the timing is right, I think he fits the position better than any other coach out there and I think he would win big.

That being said, people need to chill the eff out and let the process run it's course.

I noticed this too. In fact, I told my wife I was rather surprised that Butch's head did not look like a tomato today. That is a man who is resigned to his ultimate fate (no pun intended).
