Take that one step further. If Currie has to be covert in all this, with his ass on the line, why would he NOT float out some bad info to weed out the rats?

He has to be able to trust the people around him in order to keep this quiet. And that doesn't just apply to negotiating with Gruden but any coach before Butch is fired.

How many times did Saban publicly deny the bama job? Harbaugh? And those positions were open at the time. So how important do you think it is to be quiet about this situation?

He then would have to worry that his misinformation order got out and he'd still be screwed. Leaks don't necessarily mean good information.

It’s not an exact science. More of just muddying up the waters enough to have plausible deniability if anything comes of it, or more importantly, to make sure the water is muddy enough that most attorneys wouldn’t even touch the case in the first place for lack of confidence they would ever be able to nail down any factual information to make it worth their time.

He could always say it was at the booster level and had no knowledge of any of it. Lots of ways to disprove misinformation because it's a lie to begin with.

If we assume everything is true. I think MIT's connection is Ergen. No ergen shows up in a MIT alumni site so I assume he's friends with either Charles or one of the sons.

Hold up. How is there a connection from Beaver to Dish Network? I read through all of that and didnt see how you guys made yhat conclusion
