If they retain Jones it comes down to one thing. Money. If Jones has any integrity which he loves to point out then he should pull a Gary Anderson and step down. He would save face and probably land a a more significant job if he did that. The longer he hangs around and falling on his face the more damage he does for his coaching career. Imo this is criminal. I'm at the conclusion I HATE Jones more than Dooley.

Okay everybody. I've decided to take a break at least until Butch is officially fired/resigned. My need to read every single post is taking too much of a toll on me.

I possibly need to channel my OCD into my work. Or laundry. Or something.

You have definitely become one of my top five posters on here. Love reading your posts and look forward to your insight that you bring

Exactly. I was here in 2012. I hung on every word of “insiders.” I hoped. I prayed. I got excited about the future of UT football and then..... it didn’t happen. I felt like my wife had divorced me. I felt sick, discouraged and honestly a bit depressed.

Now, fast forward 5 years and the same posters with “insider” connections are making the same claims. New posters are popping up with detailed specifics of the deal that’s already been signed with Gruden.

Surely they’ve heard that old saying, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice- shame on....”

I refuse to be fooled again.

This. It's happening almost exactly the same way as before. It's all in the bag.....until it's not.

I wish he was half the stand up guy Anderson is. I'm afraid it won't happen though.

Although I honestly don't think he comes back next year regardless of whether he gets fired or not. There's no way in hell he has the guts to stick around this lions den next year. He'll bolt for another job if he can find one.

Dont post often but was onboard in 2012... Not getting my hopes up for Gruden, although I think it would be a good move.

If Gru is off the table would love to see UT pull away Jimbo from FSU, the locals are restless in Tallahassee and he is worth a call imo.

Hey, no need to worry--good, solid, new information will show up as soon as today's round of golf wraps up. Be patient. It's tough living the insider double-life of rubbing elbows with the who's who of Tennessee football and then giving up hours posting new info and carefully answering every question and challenge here on VN.

It's been discussed. His buyout is 40+ million. Not happening.

Nobody wanted him last year.
