The longer Jones is in Knoxville the more I think he's gonna survive the season and possibly be our coach next year. At this point I'm starting to believe they don't want to pony up the cash to buy him out.

I agree. I'm getting flashbacks to 2012, where I still believe the talk that had Dooley gotten to 6-6, Hart would have retained him.

If Currie is even retaining the notion of keeping Butch and not interviewing any candidates at this point..he is the idiot and needs to go. Tennessee football is on the brink of extinction

Currie didn’t look like a man who wanted to keep Butch. You can easily see the weight he’s carrying on his shoulders. His emotion and disspointment was clearly shown on his face.

He did NOT look like a man who has:

1. “negotiated a buyout with Butch”
2. “Accepted a resignation from Butch”
3. “Hired Gruden on Tuesday with announcement coming
after his son’s last game”

When given the chance to make an informed guess on where we are with the coaching search we now have two very different paths:

1. Believe insiders who meet up at Titans games to share
insider info. Insiders who gain credibility by showing
their license plate (still trying to figure out exactly what
that proves). Insiders who told you it was a done deal
and that Butch would not be the coach as of today.
Insiders who keep moving the goalposts forward into the
future.

Or,

2. Take one look at Currie’s face after yesterday’s game
and see a man who’s well aware of the enormity of the
decision that lies AHEAD of him.

and if you can't beat them then I doubt we can beat Southern Miss. they played each other in Sept this year. Kentucky won 24-17 but statistically Southern Miss won. Neither team could run, 78 to 55 net yards rushing. Southern Miss 300 plus yards passing to <200 for KY. Turnovers looked to be key as SM had 3. first downs were SM19 to 12 for Ky.

I was there for that game. I go to quite a few southern miss games here in Hattiesburg. Gonna be a close game unless we change our offense. They are a run first spread team. They only have 2 losses so far.

Some of us just don’t fall hook line and sinker for everyone claiming to be an insider, that doesn’t mean we don’t wanna hope for Gruden.

Exactly. I was here in 2012. I hung on every word of “insiders.” I hoped. I prayed. I got excited about the future of UT football and then..... it didn’t happen. I felt like my wife had divorced me. I felt sick, discouraged and honestly a bit depressed.

Now, fast forward 5 years and the same posters with “insider” connections are making the same claims. New posters are popping up with detailed specifics of the deal that’s already been signed with Gruden.

Surely they’ve heard that old saying, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice- shame on....”

I refuse to be fooled again.
