I really like Frost too but there are 20+ coaches that could win here. At a high level. As long as we’re winning basically 10 games a year and getting to Atlanta every other year or so (which is basically a play in game for the playoff) that’s really all you can ask for in today’s college FB.

I'd agree with that. Just holding out hope that if we don't pull one of the big names that he'll be the top candidate. JAV and Larry have pretty much said he will be I think.

F it this season is tanked. Im going all in for chaos. Give me Georgia, Penn St, TCU, and Notre Dame in the playoff with TCU winning. Vols squeak into the Birmingham Bowl. Butch fired after 5th loss which guarantees a losing SEC record. Florida and FSU fail to go bowling. JG gets a couple wins under his belt and things look up for next year as the Vols hire NC winning Gary Patterson.

I want Miami to do well. - I'm rooting for these teams that don't usually make playoffs to get in..

If you want to fire Butch, you can't let him coach into November or you risk the chance of him winning several in a row. Bows the time.

If Jimbo wants in and FSU lets him go without tbe buyout issues, I am behind that hire. Not a fan of Jimbo personally but I just want to win, he will do that.

Dan Mullen is another candidate that I think can and would win. But if he came I would want UT to back him up with an all star staff, especially one that can not only coach but recruit.

One problem I could see with Scott Frost is his staff. His DC followed him from Oregon, I would think Frost would want to keep him. I think I would want Frost to be surrounded with experienced coordinators who could help his SEC learning curve. I think Frost has the most upside of any of the up and comers, personally. I know he doesn’t have much of a HC resume at this point but everything about him just screams superstar, IMO.

That’s my concern with frost as well. I would hope to god he has the brains to do whatever he can to retain shoop

This season is a lost cause unless we win 6 games and have our next HC named so he can be around the program/players/recruits /current coaches and evaluate them for those 15ish extra practices we get.

Why can’t the administration get this? It’s why Butch needs to be gone today.

but says nothing. Complete waste of time. Reiterated over and over how it was a business and this is a business decision.

Said nothing has been decided and Jones could still come back if 7-5 or better...

Did say Fulmer would probably say not to fire in mid-season.

Butch wants out badly. Currie is dangling him in the wind to squeeze out what, maybe 1M on the buyout? Wish he would just fire him already.

My guess is he is dangling him in the wind to try and get him to meet halfway on the buy out.

Because they can keep him on for the rest of the season and save $500,000! They definitely won't lose an equal or greater value in lost ticket/concessions/merchandise sales.

Vols averaging 9 points a game in SEC play.

Vols haven't scored more that 20 points since Indiana State.

Vols offense is averaging 3 points per game over their last 3 games.

Vols HC has a background in offense.

Vols retuned all offensive linemen from 2016 team.

Vols HC has known since 2014 when Dobbs became the starting QB that he would need to be replaced in 2017.

Vols HC let his 2016 OC leave for same position at Indiana.

Vols HC had choice of bringing in high quality proven OC to run system fitted for QBs on the 2017 roster.

Vols HC instead promoted internally to OC a coach that had never called plays before so that the same system would remain in place.

Vols offense is arguably the worst it has ever been in the modern era.

All Vols offensive problems are the result of decisions made by the Vols HC.

Vols AD has not dismissed the HC.

Wtf is going on!?!?

If they bring him back we should just quit on them. No tickets, no merchandise, nothing. Clearly they don’t care. Sick of it

I firmly believe the only reason Coach Jones would on the sidelines for Kentucky is because the hotel reservations are on his credit card and no one can figure out how to change them.

By just making a bowl game, they easily make that difference up. Someone doesn’t know math very well on the hill.

I fly in for one game a year - this one was going to be lsu.

No way I'm walking into that stadium with butch still there. Post tailgate I'll just find a nice gutter to pass out in
