A name I haven't really heard thrown out there is David Shaw. He's not as hot a name as in the past probably, but is still a well respected coach. Has Stanford 1st in their division currently. Would have to probably offer a lot to lure him in. Maybe a little unrealistic but never know what big money might do.

Currently 5-2 this year.

Apparently LWS was talking a lot in the Gruden thread earlier as I’m going through the posts:

He also said this. Bolded part makes it look like Kelly isn’t interested in UT.

I think your talking people like Brohm, Norvell or Durkin... I think they have reached out to several coaches (including Kelly and I believe got negative feedback) to see who is interested.Heard a few names but not sure how accurate.

LWS Timeline of Butchs firing:

people have different thoughts on that. Heard everything from this weekend to after UK to end of year. I was told Thursday no official hire would happen before December so I could understand keeping him until after Vandy.

Team played hard today and I think Currie will consider that. I could see it happening anytime but don't have a feel for exact timeline

Basically.

He did also mention that Butch wants out as bad as the fans want him out. IMO, Butch will coach next week and possibly even finish the year unless he resigns and gives up part of the buyout.

6-0 and ranked 20th
Has scored 30+ points in all their games.
No notable wins but beat Memphis. Navy played them closest.

It appears he is making himself very visible - like he is trying to appear like he has a big decision to make (possibly to hide the fact he already has a deal in place). This is the Gruden thread isn't it?

Went to the game. Got there early and went to the Bryant Museum. Wondered why in the heck we don't have something like that. I love old football stuff and it was really a cool place. Call it General Neyland Museum.

I am going to say all but one was not just nice but very courteous. When we asked questions, folks tried to help. We were asked to eat with a few of the Bama fans. Talked a lot of football with them. The quad was cool and the student center was a nice place to pass the time before going into the stadium. Not many UT folks in the UT section. Some coeds said my 11 year old son was one cool kid as they talked with him most of the second half. He is going to kill it with the ladies as he gets older.

Had a Bama fan beside me and had good conversation before and during the game about the Vols and Butch ect. Just one idiot after the game as walking to the car who said Roll Tide and sneered. Looked like someone who usually lives in the trailer and doesn't get to go to a game. We ignored him. Traffic getting to and out of there wasn't bad. Had some ribs last night and got back to Birmingham and watched football and had a big steak. Not fit to be tied. Was very frustrated with stupid Butch and poor in game management before the half. That is only timed I yelled "You suck Butch." Otherwise was calm. Knew we would jump and move it back after we didn't score. Pissed I missed the TD as we decided to grab some nachos to hold us over. Had to walk what seemed like forever to get to the stadium from our permit parking space. All in all the people made it a neat experience and we had low expectations.

So, apathy has set in. Good memory to spend time on our first mens only trip and staying up late now and have ate like Kings. But, not bothered by the game. Because we knew we were getting the crap beat out of us. They better fire this stinking pile of steaming hot cow patties of a staff or I really don't think I will care to every get season tickets and donate again. Just buy a few tickets from time to time. Fire his AZZ in the morning or we will just grill steaks and watch college football from home. Jones doesn't care and I hope he never coaches a game on the college level again.

Thanks for sharing the story. It is past time for Butch to go. I just hope he knows it.

No LWS said they offered gruden twice this week and he turned down both. So after the 1st we came back with another and it was still on the table. Then today after matts 😁 is when jav and lws started saying its a no go.
