and if LWS is the retired sports writer from Nashville then he is likely getting his info (and has been for a number of years) from Doug Matthews....

lol

Matthews source's are Anderson, and Fulmer.
Currie is a puppet AD, hired and controled by Haslam.

Here is something of note:

My friend is a regional manager for Pilot here in the Knoxville area. He has been instructed to remove all Butch Jones and Tennessee promo related material.

LWS doesn't really try to hide his identity. Plenty of us know who he is. I've met him a couple of times. It's one of the reasons I trust what he says. His info is only as good as what he is told, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't just make stuff up for 'e-cred'.

Is anyone debating what this guy is telling us? It’s whether his source is correct or not.

I have no idea one way or the other, it just came to me and I thought I would rumor folks! But if it is Larry Woody I feel much better, he was as anti UT as Adams is now they thrived on trying to be negative about UT. Woody and Climer did it when we were having good to great seasons.SOON!

Nope. No insider called CBJ in 2012. No insider called Charlie Strong, who was offered before CBJ, accepted and then backed out.

IIRC, no insider called Kiffin.

Several insiders said that Gruden was a done deal in 2012.

So no matter what is said on this board. Nobody knows a thing. I'm back to full Grude!

Has to many friendships at Tennessee and doesn't want to risk losing them. Bottom line, IMO, he has no desire to coach in college. We made him a great offer is what I understand. Saban type offer

Larry correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in the past you have stated that you'd believe Tennessee would hire a heavy hitter when you saw it. Basically because they won't spend the money necessary for a top coach. If they made a Saban type offer to Gruden, has that made you think otherwise on that I guess? Even though Gruden turned it down that gives me hope that they're finally willing to open up the checkbook and relinquish control.
