He texted me and said the rumor was complete BS. FYI...Hart used his firm in 2012 and they advised him to not hire Butch.

My response was:
“Yeah, I figured as much. Was he even approached? Do you think it will be hard attracting a great coach? Now I’m seeing Frost’s name thrown out.”

He has not gotten back with me. He played for Geargia Tech, so he’s probably at the Tech vs Wake Forest game tonight.

I'm all grude but if somehow we don't get him I would make James Franklin the highest paid coach in the country to come to ut. The man can flat out coach. Screw frost and fleck.

I love a good grumor as much as anyone, but for the sake of UT’s future, I hope any search is being conducted with top level professionalism and is air tight. Even if that means reduced productivity at work and less sleep for the next month.

For anybody who spent time there remember Guido Vol, Jumpmaster, etc,? Those were guys I was following. Again, I’m just fortunate to have access to information around this search.

no offense, but this is weird.

i hope you new guys don't misunderstand what some of us are saying, it's just part of an uncanny coincidence i suppose (wink, wink).

Yes, it has some similar parts, but my source was high up in AD and told me deal was done. I was told Hart did talk to Gruden, and it went south after that. I do believe it was handed to Hart by boosters though.

So a guy’s company, that’s no longer being used by a new AD, is in the know about what’s happening now? Nahhhhh unless I’m missing something.

If Gruden accepts the deal we've prepared for him, he'll almost certainly be the highest paid coach in the country (although it wouldn't all be in USD).
