Bubba is a good guy and can be trusted

Without getting too deep in the sh1t this time...

I can say with no doubt that bubba's post is the closest thing to the truth that I have seen on this board.

There have been NO official talks with Jon Gruden, or any coach for that matter. It's early in the process. Be patient.

Whenever anyone mentioned the unlikeliness of Jon Gruden coaching in college, many of you turned on them rather rabidly and claimed that this was mostly all in fun.

And now turning on the same guys you defended so, just days ago.
Some of the reactions don't make any sense. If there is any truth to any of this and our university made a real run at someone like Gruden, I'm thrilled.

I expected an up and comer or assistant after the hires of LSU, Florida, Texas, Georgia and so on. It's just the landscape of college fb now. If we can't get 1 of the "proven winners" (not even sure who that is given Saban is the one we want to dethrone), I like that we tried.
Oh, and nothing about Frost reminds me of Butch. Exciting football and a fanbase terrified of him leaving. That's as far as you can get from warning letters about clichés, predictable plays and riding the coattails of the previous coach.

I'm sticking with what I've been told and posted earlier ...
1. Currie is clamping down on UTAD leaks.
2. If they knew (and they don't) they would not/could not say anything.
3. Butch will not be here in 2018.

I can't comment on Gruden side.

I will wait until someone is announced. Depending who it is will determine how happy or pizzed off I am.

Butch fired/resigned must come 1st before any discussion of new coach.

P.S. 3 1/2 GAMES without a freaking offensive TD !!! Are you freaking kidding me ??

here is what's happening folks.

the people that know boosters are claiming the deal is pretty much agreed to, because the boosters and back channel people have been in unofficial preliminary negotiations with gruden and his people, which he has agreed to.

the people that know a.d. folks are being told no john gruden. they can't possibly own up to all this right now. hence, all the conflicting misinformation we keep hearing about the same time every day this week plus the influx of posters with 2 weeks and 15 posts to their credit.

now when butch is gone, business will pick up, because we'll actually have an opening.
even more smokescreen until such a time gruden is announced.

like a woman having a baby, everybody is happy. no body remembers the excrutiating pain of the whole process.

currie = rock star
gruden = ut football saviour

how am i doing?

Dang! Bubba read my posts and used me as an insider.

Heard from a good source that Gruden had a meeting at Cherokee Country Club regarding membership, and also met with a realtor in Knoxville recently. Obviously Gruden has ties in Knoxville, but the Grumors are fun!

I'm not sure if he's a favorite of mine, but Frost is an alpha male. He sure appears to have the likelihood of the it factor.

Its all fun at this point, we are all for the same thing a great Tennessee football team. We shall see in the end who is right or wrong. Not like the football team im at least having fun at all this. One thing for certain is the next coach we pick will either destroy or save this program. So it better be a damn good pick

The Gruden deal rumor is comple BS. Sorry to say this, but MIT and others have either received bad information or they’re completely full of crap. I don’t know if Gruden was offered the job and turned it down, or if he was even approached, but I can assure you from the highest source that he’s not taking the job. This is not coming from inside the athletic dept or from a powerful booster. It’s coming straight from JG’s camp. You guys are being taken for a ride.
So your friends with him or with his group of people...pfff that as just as much BS like the ones who claim they know people inside the AD

You guys can believe whatever you want to believe. I don’t care. I grew up in Knoxville and graduated from UTK. I want them to succeed as badly as everyone else. When I heard about the rumor, I reached out to my friend who is helping Currie with the search and told him about the rumor and jokingly said I guess your firm will no longer be needed. These guys deal with super agents all the time. I don’t know Gruden, but they sure as hell know his agent. Btw, I did ask him if he was offered the job and he has not gotten back with me. That’s why I didn’t answer the question. Just because I haven’t posted a lot doesn’t mean I don’t read Volnation daily. I was reading Grid Scape/inside Tennessee back in the late 90’s. For anybody who spent time there remember Guido Vol, Jumpmaster, etc,? Those were guys I was following. Again, I’m just fortunate to have access to information around this search.

The next thing we will see is Butch strolling into his next scheduled press conference. He will talk a little about Alabama and some about injuries and then a little about Kentucky.
