Kelly and Saban were elite college coaches before they went to the NFL. That's not the same and you know it.

The fascination with Gruden goes far far beyond the fact that he simply coached in the NFL.

thanks for not getting on me about it,., you dumbarse you. I watched every single season the man coached in Nashville and a few of his years IN STL. Out of morbid curiosity. Minus a good season almost 20 years ago on the back of steve McNair he was a perennial sub .500 coach who would occasionally have a great season @ 8-8 you moron

So LWS and JAV are saying Gruden said no but MIT still says yes. Knuckle and DTO haven't heard anything different. I never did find what Hutch said on TOS. Something is strange especially the "reasons" that Gruden turned us down, it honestly makes zero sense. If he doesn't want to coach here and fracture friendships, then why allow it to get to the point we are backing up the Brinks truck not once, but twice?

i used to thoroughly enjoy the vols, and football saturdays all day long.
i enjoyed watching other games when we weren't on, all day long.
we are so bad that we are not enjoyable .... at all.
we are so bad that i don't even enjoy watching other games ... at all.

being really bummed with this roller coaster cloak and dagger charades is further deflating by cfb saturday enjoyment.

not much left.

Do you guys remember the crap that Auburn caught for trying to negotiate with Petrino before firing their guy? You can't do that (or let it get out that you are really doing it) in this day and age. Once Butch is officially gone, it is on. Until then, I'm not getting my hopes up or down about anybody.

Just my random thoughts here...
If Butch is to be fired before seasons end (which I cannot see why he wouldn’t be) why would you wait and give him a chance to win a game at all. I doubt we get handled worse than we did today by anyone left on our schedule.

It would be easier and look more legit to do it now. If he wins against Kentucky and and is still coach when we play at home next, look at the money the AD will lose from people not coming.

The sails of my Gruden ship may be battered and raggedy from the storms of today but I am still on the sea.... I may be beaten, up and down... and may express it often... But I am still here with until we name a coach :eek:hmy:

Was hoping to break into one of these one day soon, but have been saving these until the next sec and national championship games respectively. May be awhile unless Gruden comes SOON!
