We're staring down the barrel of an historic Bama beatdown the likes of which many of us have never seen in our lifetimes. A little hope, however fleeting, is sorely needed right now.

Plus, don't worry, LWS will bring us back to reality soon enough.

"Currie isn't ready to make a move right now....I would expect Butch Jones to be back next year. Larry Scott will not be retained but Canales will be promoted to OC. Butch will coach QBs. Shoop is also leaving and Butch is bringing back Willie Martinez. but as DC this time.....it will be a 3-9 team. Currie is prepared to offer Butch an extension if he keeps the score within 2 TDs against UF, UGA, and Vandy next season"

Sadly, that is seriously the exact scenario that would play out if somehow Butch was retained into 2018. He would absolutely fire Scott and hire another lackey to call his offense for him while he micromanaged every aspect of it.

Yep. I don't think Butch is as bad of a coach as people think, but for whatever reason, he insists on clinging to the least effective parts of his system.

Anyone posting about any hiring/firing at this point is just pure speculation. Things do not move as fast as a forum wants. It is a process that involves several individuals. And those involved would not be ones leaking any credible info.

Personally, if I were going to troll, I would've made the numbers higher. $6.5M/6 + $5M is a little optimistic. We'd have to throw in plenty of perks-- life insurance policies, lake houses for all Cindy's cousins, etc.
