Recruiting Forum Talk XXXIX

Hey guys, one of my employees has really, really been sucking it up lately. Their performance has consistently dropped over the course of several weeks and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better. Their deficiencies have been pointed out repeatedly, but they refuse to change/alter the way they perform their job. This has caused a toxic work environment in the office because other people's jobs are being impacted. Should I let this individual go, and appoint someone else in the department (that has experience in the role) to take over while a suitable replacement is found? Or, just let the individual keep working through the end of the year and hope things will change? Thanks for your help!
Must be a tough question to deal with if you have to post it in 2 different threads in 2 different forums

You will anyway. If he stays he makes what the contract says. If he goes now or at any point he makes what the contract says. The only question is will the interim justify his bump in pay by getting more wins and putting more tails in seats.

Maybe. It's hard to know what counsel is telling them, or what other dynamics are factored in. My point was simply that this isn't like firing an employee, no matter how much VN thinks it is.

What is his buyout? Can you get someone to replace him immediately? How will it affect the rest of the co-workers if you let him go now, as opposed to say.... Sunday?

I think it’s pretty obvious who the real culprit is

Butch is a decent level coach that has been good for this program. I agree with most here it's time for him to go.

Larry Scott is completely inept and not prepared for the SEC. It is Butches fault for hiring him but he is the main problem for this team being so Bad imo.

You should definitely let them continue. It would be irrational to make a change at this point of the seas... uh.. year. I'm sure everything will be fine!

You just don't get it Bass. Nobody thinks you're irrational because you think he should've been fired during the bye week. That's perfectly rational. The irrational comes into play when you're jumping up and down screaming it over and over. The irrational comes into play when you accuse the AD of incompetence even though you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. You don't know his thought process.

I wish they had let him go after UGA too, but I'm not gonna sit here and say that there is no other possible way to handle it that makes sense.

I know it was a waste of time to type this out. You're dug in and you aren't gonna even entertain the thought that you might actually be over the top a little right now. I say this a lot on here, and pretty sure I said it to you a week or two ago but..... when almost EVERYONE on the site thinks you're being a little extra right now, chances are slim that all of them are wrong and you are right.

We ALL want him gone. (Well, may be a couple that we're calling people out for being negative a week or two ago that are still clinging to hope) It's gonna happen so no need to stress over it.

The same as it will be in three months. There's an associate HC in place. They'll keep doing their jobs.

F Kiffin.

I hate Kiffin. I'm willing to turn the other cheek for a contract where he has to pay a bunch to leave and UT doesn't have to pay to fire him.

I could stand to have a wrestling heel for a coach for a while. Specifically if he's a consistent thorn in Smart and Saban's side.

I’ll make it shorter and easier.

Butch Jones is the culprit

F Kiffin.

Imagine if your college girlfriend left you for her high school boyfriend, who then dumped her and so she became the side chick for some short, rich dude, and then she left him to go live with some guy in a trailer park in Boca Raton.

That girl sends you a "u up?" text, you don't respond.

You block the f@&$ing number.
