Richt didn't coach the bowl game but coached the entire regular season. How does that relate? We fired Fulmer with 3 games left and Dooley with a game left.

I was admitting that I was wrong. I thought Richt had been let go earlier but I was wrong. He only missed the bowl game.

Well of course he would. We gave him a lot of money, let him have a helicopter and his own squad of co-eds. He played the friggin USC fight song in our locker room and did whatever else he wanted. Why wouldn't he come back?

Maybe it's been the past few years of constant disappointment after disappointment, but at this point, F it. Bring Kiffin back I really don't even care, at least there would be some energy. IMO there hasn't been a single season that approached the excitement he brought aside from the great start to last year before it all unraveled due to the injuries. And yes, I fully realize that it would be a disaster waiting to happen and it would not end well.

What if Kiffin wasn't givin complete control and we brought in someone experienced to make sure everything goes correctly and "keep him in line"

That was year 4. Had he been kept and lost to SoCar, Uga and UT in the first 6 weeks he would have been already fired. It took beating a top 10 Uga team for him to not be fired in year 4, two years removed from an 11-1 sugar bowl season.

Jeremy Foley was the AD at the time and I don't think for a minute he would have fired Muschamp mid-season or even late season. That wasn't his style. Remember, they had just gotten waxed 42-13 by Missouri in their homecoming game and he didn't make a move.

If the today's environment existed at the time, he likely would have as the early signing period is a game-changer for college football. But in 2014, it was different.

Not to go off-topic, but didn't the overwhelming number of college coaches support and promote the early signing period? I'm not sure if they truly considered the by-product of potentially getting fired mid-season. I suppose they all thought "it will never happen to me".

Story always ends the same with that guy. We were the only employer he has had since 2007 that could not wait to get rid of the guy. He did us worse than any of them and for some reason we have fans who want that tool bag to come back here.

He wrecked this program.

Semi-serious question:

Once we hire Gruden and Trevor Lawrence wants in.... you kicking Penix or Martinez to the curb?

Martinez is rated higher, but he's injured and Penix is putting up monster stats this season.

Once a knucklehead, always a knucklehead. He can't even form a staff of professional coaches.

Big fan of Martinez. I haven't kept up with Penix or any of the recruits since season went south.

I'm not a proponent of cutting anyone loose but a new coach would be crazy not to make a call to TL and Fields tonsee if they want to join the class then you risk taking 3 QBs but we know one would naturally drop off. It's going to probably be too late to get in on trevor. Fields would be more likely

Are you suggesting that Lane wear a chastity belt?
Because nothing else would stop the thing that gets Lane in all of his trouble according to his wife and HH.

I guess Vol senior Manager Roger Frazier could have the only key and Roger could only unlock it after consulting Currie or Dr.Phil (on call and on retainer) first.
