The personel management and player development on the Oline is my biggest gripe with this coaching staff. You have dudes like Jack Jones who has greatly regressed from a true freshman to a junior. It just doesn't make sense.

Coleman Thomas took some lumps as a freshman but looked like he had some real potential by the end of the year and now he can't even get on the field.

Took a while, but you finally got what I was getting at. Congrats on engaging in a dialogue!

Considering other viewpoints doesn’t always mean changing opinions. If it did, the world would be a much more peaceful and cooperative place.

It’s ok that we disagree. I never said there’s no way I’m wrong. I just gave the reasons I believe what I do, the reasons I’m skeptical of what you believe, and pointed out some poor logic you used to justify your beliefs.

I could totally be wrong. I admit that.I usually tend to err on the side of skepticism. That’s not always a good thing. I tend to appreciate a flawed idea well-argued for more than a good idea poorly argued for. Obviously that can be problematic.

But at least I can say I haven’t been inconsistent or disingenuous in what I’ve said on here.

If it is ok that you disagree with Invol then just drop it. I heard the same info as Invol last year right before the VT game. He is not on here for e-cred just stating what he heard and believes to be true from a trusted source. Its ok to agree to disagree without dragging it out over 50 pages.

Rewatching the game. If JG can get the confidence to just pull the trigger, or the receivers can get open (I can't see what they are doing) JG will be very good for us. Frost will work wonders with him imo.

Frost, Frost, Frost, Frost

Yes.

That is also why I am typically adamant on pointing out incorrect conclusions about the last coaching search. For example, Charlie Strong was nearly a done deal. He told Hart that he would like to have the job. Strong changed his mind after talking to his family for a pretty personal reason. Strong was towards the top of the search list.

SBV can think what he wants.

The university has their own aircraft. Not sure why he would need to use the Haslam's for any purpose.

The athletic department uses all kinds of private planes, especially for recruiting purposes. They occasionally have a booth set up at TYS on gamesays looking for volunteers who can donate their time/planes.

Edit: Bruin beat me

If they quit during the UMASS game, they would have lost the game. I know saying that the entire team has quit on Jones fits the agenda, but it's simply not true.

It's absolutely the truth. A win vs. UMass doesn't tell you anything. Hell, if they didn't lose their QB they would've won.

We won't win another game until Butch is fired. It doesn't matter if 30% of the players haven't quit.

70.% of the players haven't quit. That isn't the truth good grief. Ignorant take after watching a team fight hard last week.

Meh, takes two to tango. I don’t care that he disagrees with me. I can understand why he would and I might in his position too.

What bothers me is the lazy/disingenuous manner of arguing in favor of that opinion and reluctance to engage in a dialogue about it.

There's a vast, vast difference between "quitting" and not caring about the result. We're also vastly more talented than South Carolina and UMass so it's hard to tell what's just a pure talent advantage vs. really "fighting hard".

These guys aren't trying to lose. That never happens. It didn't happen to Dooley.

But to say these guys are fighting for Butch is ridiculous and I know for a fact most of them are either to just tired of hearing about it and want the shadow taken off of them or just flat out want Butch gone.

lol quitting and not caring about the outcome are different now. Keep spinning anyway you want but a team with a inept offense and a defense that has played extremely well for the most part since the opener isn't a team that has quit, doesn't care about the outcome or whatever you want to call it.

I kinda get the feeling that a lot of the team has maybe given up on the HC, but not the season (if that makes any sense). It’s possible they could be done with Butch AND still have enough pride to wanna win games.

I don't think he said they were fighting hard for Butch...he simply said they were fighting hard.

Unfortunately, the obvious fact is these men have lost a ton of confidence. It might be the key reason why the season has gone south.
