We have a combo of retired husband and wife still working. DH runs the house, life is good.

Now I just transitioned from the office to working from home, and life is better!

--although I seem to be doing more housework again. Hmm. :question:

But it's easier to keep up with this thread, so I'm good.

But I do need some good vibes this week from VN. It's Bama week and the number of Knoxville based Bama fans at my work is baffling. These people are born and raised in TN. Never set foot in the State of Alabama and they have f'ing elephants on their cars and run around all week yelling "Roll Tide". It's all I can do to keep from punching them in their faces.

Lol, post #4229, posted yesterday at 10:47am. :) Apparently someone cribbed it and stuck it into the Reddit thread without attribution, Houston Kress found it and read about half of it on air. I called in and repped this thread. We all famous now!

The Rohan Davey momma 20 year, SEC championship curse will be expiring next season. The Vicky Fulmer "y'all did Philip​ wrong" curse will lift when she's satisfied with the HC being a worthy replacement for Phil. The timing of all of this is simply incredible. It's happening people.

There are some differing opinions as to some of the names on the list, but Jon Gruden emerges as the first choice who is acceptable to all, even if some still have caveats. Those caveats are not insurmountable.

The AD starts due diligence vetting on Gruden and others during the bye week. The vetting is an ongoing process that will continue until a new coach puts pen to paper.

During the week prior to SC, back channels float the ADs interest to Gruden himself. The "bumps" convey the ADs level of commitment to going forward. A detailed offer is not made, but Gruden is given the broad strokes. Gruden responds that he would be interested in receiving a detailed offer and would give it serious consideration.

The parties part ways, each promising to work up their own side of a proposal. For Gruden this means deciding his own salary requirements, as well as a detailed list of his desired staffing budget and personnel, as well as the extent of whatever program control he may desire. For the AD, it means putting the lawyers to work drafting most likely a MOU hat would be the basis for a formal contract. These activities take time for both sides.

In the meantime, Butch Jones comes to the realization that his resume is more tarnished than he was previously willing to accept. He is also starting a potentially epic Bama beat down in the face. He wants his money, but he also wants out of Knoxville with as much of a coaching reputation as he can salvage for future job interviews. He begins negotiating with the AD over whether there is a way he can escape Knoxville.

The AD releases to several media outlets (247, VQ, Hyams, Pete Thamel) that he "really would prefer not to have to fire Butch this season." This translates as "I'm going to fire you this season, work with me on the buyout."

So, Butch and AD are negotiating with each other, AD is working on a proposal for Gruden AND still vetting other names, and Gruden is working on his side of the deal to present back to AD. And everyone is also doing their normal day jobs on top of this, which includes MNF, running a University athletic department, and coaching a football team.

Lots of moving parts. Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous. It's going to take time and nothing is imminent at the moment. Be excellent to each other, keep calm, Grude on, and soon!

Let it fly if they get out of hand. And...be grateful you don?t LIVE with an Alabama alum. ? We?ve been surviving this week together for 10 years, though. I need our comeback to start stat.

I've long told my husband that my enjoyment of life and satisfaction in my marriage would be significantly diminished if he wasn't a TN fan. I honestly can't imagine the circumstances where I ever would have dated an AL alum much less married one.

Sure wish it was. When the Great Gruden is announced, I have plans to order Jon Gruden bobbleheads for them. I have dreams of putting them on their cars and filming them when they walk out and see them. 😎
