Don’t know if it been discussed, but if/when Gruden is hired, does he need to finish out the MNF schedule or can he get out of that? Just wondering how that would work if he is named the coach well before end of the season.

I've seen it asked several times and haven't seen anyone answer. It's also been asked about his contract with espn. Would that have to be bought out as well?

I would rather them take their time and have everything ready to go before they announce Gruden. I want his staff put together and ready to hit the ground running with this recruiting class. There may not be a lot of time left before the early signing day. All that matters is we land the Gru. Today, tomorrow, next week, just as long as it happens.

Can someone please answer me as to why on God's green Earth anybody thinks Gruden will actually make it as Vols coach? He has been out of the college game for 30 years, never was a recruiter or head coach in college, and yet we would have to pay this guy well over 7 million a year to pry him away from ESPN?

I think it would depend on what ESPN would be willing to do and what Jon would want to do. If he wants to finish the season out or if he would rather shift all his focus to UT . ESPN would probably want him to finish out the season but if they can get another guy lined up for it then they might be okay with it. I don't think it's a big deal though. I think a bigger deal is canceling QB camp and all the endorsement deals he would have to drop. There's gotta be some cash in getting out of those contracts.

Some people ask the wrong questions. Why would Gruden be good? The right question...why wouldn't he? Why would Gruden leave ESPN for UT? The right question..why wouldn't he?

I am in New York this week.

Tampa Bay plays at Buffalo Sunday.

Oakland plays at Buffalo next Sunday.

I used to live in Oakland.
