Currie came from nowhere to take the AD job. You can mark my words... he is the errand boy of whoever was behind that push. He will hire who THAT group of boosters want, and no one else.

omeone want to educate me here on who that group might be? Big Jim, I’m sure

The boosters are notoriously divided and controlling. Just because some talk, it doesn’t = reality manifested

I think the common denominator is Peyton. If Peyton is on board I think the others will be on board. If Peyton is working Gruden, I think we have a good shot. I think Peyton is the key here.

Not trying to be a jerk or start anything but your stance on this seems odd for a man of such strong faith.

Not offended at all

I believe in faith with reasonable substance. Faith is a spectrum, and certainty is dangerous. I have allowed my faith to swim in the waters of science and reason, and maintain my faith in the midst of doubts, if I am brutally vulnerable right now, and completely off topic, lol

Hyams said we offered him 6 years 30 million in 2012 so it’s not unreasonable to think that we would try to offer him again. Now whether he’s interested at all is a different story but if you’re John Currie you have to make him tell you absolutely no I’m not coming and he may very well do so but I would say 6 years 40/42 million with incentives is probably on the table since we get so much from SEC network etc and future anticipated earnings from ticket sales etc.

I'm thinking it's going to take somewhere between 7 and 8 million a year not counting any bonuses. It'll take giving him the type of control Saban has, and the money to hire the staff he wants. If all that happens, I actually think we have a decent chance of getting him.

Boro is my favorite "insider" in the Gruden thread.
Posts that he's hearing good things yesterday but doesn't say what.
Today, posts that he's glad a lot of the things he was hearing are being discussed. Gets confirmed as #1 insider.
Cracks me up.

If there has ever been anything in this program's history that has captivated and spread cheer throughout this fanbase, like Grumors, I'd like to hear it.

It's up there with beating Florida in '98 or Peyton SPANKING Bama 41-14, except it lasts for weeks and weeks and weeks...

...and then it kicks you in the nuts.

I don't want to be kicked in the nuts. Not again.

Please be true and please COME TRUE.

Agree, I don’t want to be told Santa isn’t real again like my big brother told me when I was 8.

Going to bow out for a while guys. Not upset, just things to do. It’s daylight here, lol. I’ll be back around when you’re sleeping

You’ve got my 2 cents, and I’m not afraid to be wrong, otherwise I’d be silent and shout “I told you so” after the fact

Fair enough. :hi:

Monday night chat going on over on VQ. Of course mods don't believe Gruden will happen. Austin Price answer to who he likes as replacement options...

If he makes a change, I like Chad Morris, Justin Fuente and Mike Bobo.

Larry is FOS

He did just apologize to me. He really did not read what I wrote and then lambasted me like I was a little child who did not know how the AD worked. So I posted my quote which was not edited to show what I had written that basically said AD would be finding out the interest thought he would not be doing direct contact himself. It was not crystal clear but should've been clear enough. He did apologize that he should've understood it but he really did come across like a parent correcting a child. I must add I had to apologize that I threw the old guess your bitter cause you contacts you had were fired. Still think we would have been better off if we had kept Phil.

Appreciate the effort. That's a link to the thread though, not a link to EZ's post.

Still gave ya a like.

:hi:

My bad brother.... I'm still learning my way around here. And Gruden Season is a tough spot for a rookie. Thanks for the like!

I’m cynical and jaded as I can be right now. I’ve seen my dog chase it’s tail and it wasn’t a good look

When I see it, I will believe it, and not a second before.

But here's the thing... What else do we have to be excited about right now?

You don't have to believe outright that it WILL happen, you only have to be willing to believe that it COULD happen.

And that my friend is all you need.
