The funniest part of the Gruden stuff is that we will get it done and hire him this time and a guy that hasn't coached a down of football in over a decade will not set the world on fire and you guys will lose your mind.

By then they will have enough experience for the Coomors or the Teemors to be a thing.

Ya that's an asinine rumor. Unless they've acquired a new ultra wealthy booster lately, they're not forking over the 30M or so to fire Moras squad and hire Kelly's.

That's an agent getting media to float the rumor to put pressure on a program like UT

His handle is "Hutch 7" and I believe the original thread was titled "Just passing along morning info". But since then he's posted many times in many different threads on the same subject.

And don't forget he NEVER Jon Gruden was going to accept the job. He just said he's been approached and is listening. He also believes he WILL coach again soon and hopes (like we all do) that he chooses UT. He also said (not sure if posted before) that his contract with ESPN comes up this year. And last time around it was real, Gruden was very interested then but UT wouldn't give him the power he required. This time he's being given EVERYTHING he asked for last time around. Ball is in his court...

I jsut got a big Gruden

Ya cowherd should be better than that. Being a mouthpiece for an agent. I wonder if he was promised he'd get to break the Kelly hire if he agreed to float what is such an obvious "agent trying to drive up maker value" rumor.

It's all just evidence why this fanbase deserves nothing. We are just fat old guys that drink beer at tailgates and act like we somehow deserve something. We aren't owed anything.

Bama fans have given death threats to their kicker in the midst of an 11 win season.

Arkansas fans set their QBs truck on fire a few years back.

SEC schools all have some bad eggs. You’re just more in tune with ours and forgetting other teams’ because your half senile and your memory is failing you.

Would you take any of these 5 coaches for UT's next head coach?

-Jon Gruden
-Gary Patterson
-Chip Kelly
-Scott Frost
-Jim Bob Cooter

What is your biggest reservation with each one?

We're reaching a tipping point where Jon Gruden may be hurting the program more than he knows. If he doesn't want the job he needs to come out publicly and explicitly state it.

1) we're spending all this time trying to woo him when we could spend it with Chip Kelly or someone else.

2) whichever coach we hire will always have the Gruden shadow lingering over him. If this process ends with Jeff Brohm we should all be ecstatic because he's a very good coach and motivator of men. However, a large portion of the fanbase will believe we did something wrong because Gruden didn't take the job. The reality is just that we're trying our hardest to get him but in all likelihood he just really enjoys the attention but does not want to coach college football.

It does seem a lot like last search, but this isn't random people on VN saying stuff- JAV and Vol Obrien or some name similiar- and now who appears to be Cindy's cousin on other sites, who are considered to be well respected posters, are saying positive things too.

There were "respected people" getting in on it five years ago, too. And someone says on another board they are Cindy Gruden's cousin? A guy on here had people convinced for years that he was Travis Stephens.

Come on, y'all.

What is your biggest reservation with each one?

Gruden - been out of coaching a while. Does he have the skill set for the college game?
Gary - can he do what he does with elite talent (and the egos that come with it). Can’t he do it against teams this physical year in and year out.
Kelly - is this a destination for him?
Frost - fools gold?
JBC - hasn’t been a head coach at any level. Very big change from OC at NFL to HC running a football program.

Bruce Feldman just made comment validating what someone else said here regarding Nebraska hiring the AD means Mike Leach becomes a key player there if it opens. coukd be good news on Frost front.

frost at TN makes more football sense than Nebraska. Easier to recruit the type of players he wants to run his system at TN than Nebraska. You can take those relationships being built at UCF with you to TN better than Nebraska. Instate talent is being built to compete at high level for any system.

I’d forgotten about that.

Kind of missing the point/changing the topic, but I remember noticing that the guy who wrote it had really nice handwriting. I usually don’t imagine the type of racist pricks who’d sent a letter like that to have that lol

Naw. Plenty of time. We also don't know what is being said behind closed doors. It could all be smokescreens. Currie isnt going to just sit and wait on one guy. He will have other talks lined up as it helps with negotiations if your saying ok Jon, we are talking tin chip too but your our top guy. It can speed those things up.

If we miss on gruden this time by giving him everything he asked then it goes away sonit wont hurt the next guy. It will be a closed door

This is why I believe that Gruden was listening last time and may be listening this time. He knows how much the fanbase is clamouring for him. I just cant believe that he is that level of attention whore, to just soak it up and let the university pay the price.

I honestly don't know any more. The whole thing is a mess.

I road the elevator down with Coach Scott and the other offensive personnel after the game and it was sad to see just how defeated they were. Coach Scott had his head down with hands over his head. Also, it seems that on that final play Kelly wasn't supposed to block and was instead supposed to release into the flat.

Hate it for Scott. I’ve been super critical of him as an OC, but I feel for him. He never should’ve been out in a position like this in the first place. The SEC is no place for a first time OC.

why is it a bad look? Its not a bad look to the nation. It says your serious. Currie will let it stay out there whether it's legit or not because it allows him to work unnoticed with other candidates.
