You're correct. He sure is.
In your opinion, is his time at UT over OR should he get more time?

I am a firm believer against rash decisions and firing a coach too soon, in which ive been roasted on here for..i think he and i know he should and will get at least the rest of the season to turn it around. If he doesnt, im getting behind a les miles, rander sanders or gruden hire

Timing wasn't right before for Gruden who's son was in HS. Now a JR at UT. Time is right to come home and bring his wife's and son's school back to greatness. Build it into a powerhouse, then retire on top and open a moonshine business in Eastern TN. He has plenty of money but needs the control and $$ to put together a staff and program the way he wants, not the boosters.

Personal opinion as a Dad and Type A personality.

Doesn't he have another son that plays football that is a high school junior? i may be wrong.

If Currie and Boosters "botch" this process and miss on Gruden for whatever reason. What next? I would vote for a Mark Dantonio hire. Coaching pedigree is impressive AND he is a proven winner. Granted, seasons are up and down at MSU, but more talent to work with at UT. But really does not matter...because...

SOON! Tennessee's next coach, Gruden will be. Yessss...the force is strong with the Grude!

Obviously this is just my opinion

But I think Frost would be an absolute slam dunk and I'd be thrilled.

- Elite college QB & Champion

- 6 years NFL experience...on defense

- The list of coaches he has played under or worked for is best I've ever seen

- recruiter of the year

- multiplied years as Oregon OC when they had best offense in nation

- undefeated after UCF was 0 - 12 two year ago

- mother Olympic athlete

- father and mother both have 30+ years coaching experience

- brother is a 3 time Jeopardy champ (included this one for the lol factor)

This is silly in general, but especially silly that you have included Fuente and Mullen

Both of those would be terrible hires.

"Well coach A did a decent job at a B list school, therefore he will do a terrific job at an A list school."

It's the logic that made Butch Jones our coach.

I believe both of them would fail here on the same scale Butch Jones did, but even if they don't, the OP is right in that both of those would be laying the ball up down 2 strokes at 16 at the Masters.

Just. ****ing. Go for it.

That's all we want. This isnt the time to be clingy with your money. It isn't the time to outsmart the rest of the SEC by finding "The next big thing" that no one has heard of.

There is a reason Gruden has 17 full threads on here while Chip Kelly and Les Miles are barely discussed by comparison.

The appeal isn't that he is a sure thing. The cons are well documented. The appeal is that if he hired him, everyone in the country would look at UT and say "Oh ****. Now that is a school that wants to win, and is putting their giant you know what's on the table and saying we want to win now."

You can argue whether that is the mentality we should have, but that's how it is.

Again. Don't lay up. Don't live to fight another day. Don't look around the board room and say" Who's out there that no one else knows about." Leave that crap for the TAMU's and Arkansas of the world. Just. ****ing. Go for it.

Kelly is the only other big time coach i can see coming in and being competitive right away.

Guys. Gruden will send us a signal on MNF. An orange tie, orange drink, VOL hand gesture, maybe even a power T, I don't know, but he will signal Vol Nation somehow. Don't lose hope.

In reference to Twitter...is it me, or is the Tennessee Football twitter account really bad and annoying. Maybe it’s just my current bitterness.

Is the football twitter account as bad and annoying as the football being played this season.

Lulz. You think he's still here because they are waiting to see if he can turn it around?

I have to admit these Grumors keep things interesting, but don't hold your breath regardless of what any "insider" tells you. Remember when Dooley was fired it was all over local media that Tennessee was close to making a deal with Gruden. How did that play out?

Guys, you are going to hear other names pop up during this process. Some of those names pop up because we are conducting due diligence vetting. Some of those names are misdirection. And some names on the list you will never hear about.

None of those names at this point means that we have moved on from our top targets.

Thank goodness!!!

He has one who’s a professional powerlifter and assistant strength coach for the Washington Redskins.
