"Is still upset with the Currie hire. Was going to be Fulmer but old man Haslam wanted Currie. Thunder Thornton was also not happy with the Currie decision..... all this being said....on Butch Jones....he said someone is working back channels to raise money for butchs ouster.... but he is not going to be giving any money because virtually it really doesn’t matter because UT will not be great again until the old man Haslam keeps his thoughts to himself or croaks."

That's what my guy has been telling me for a while. Said Big Jim stands in the way of about everything positive.

Les Miles
Cam Cameron
Jim Tressel
Todd Grantham

Someone like that bout to come on down

I think transfers has killed that. First class, lost Hendrix and Henderson. Then injuries were awful

LB could never develop. Bates, Bryant, injuries killed there too.

OL doesn’t hurt for numbers or star power, but whether development, scheme or coaching, is just not good

The OL has be over cross trained. Stick to a position and own it.

Kinda wish he'd just croak.

Welp.

I feel so confident now. Satterfield here we come.

Encouraging.

Eh, as the quote goes:believe nothing you hear and only very little of what you see.

I’ve been around this site for a couple of head coaching searches, many coordinator hires, rumors, Grumors, scandals and everything in between.

A Gambling man would bet against anything they hear on VN and win much more than they lose.

I don't think I buy the big Jim stuff. I do, however, believe (just from reading, not from any inside info, as I have none) the boosters at Tennessee are splintered in their opinions on almost everything.

Seems like a total pissing contest on the Hill. Peyton has to be the guy to get this thing moving forward. He's the only guy who is probably universally liked by all the boosters. I'm sure there are still some who are butthurt over Phil ousting Majors, so there's even some division there.

Sincere question, what did you think of offseason hires, particularly on offense?

Questioned Wells, but quickly dismissed because of media hype recruiting prowess and energy.

Did not like Scott at OC

Did not like Canales, optimistic based on practice reports

Neutral on Beard. Thought youth and energy + playing experience would be pluses, especially in recruiting

How bout you?

I don’t know if I buy Jim is in the way but I do believe the boosters are divided. We need everyone working together to hire a big fish. JMO.

Matthews was critical of their recruiting of the linebacker position this morning. Talked about the middle linebacker at A&M from middle Tennessee and how we were only going to take one linebacker that year. He was like why? We needed depth at that position then and now. He also kind of hinted that that kid wouldn't start over Jumper anyway.

Because we need 8 receivers every class so they can block...defense wins championships. When Butch mentioned a 12 man receiver group, it should have been a sign.

Pretty much spot on with what I thought. Honestly I think I questioned Canales the most. Now I think they were all equally bad.
