Guess he missed out on the Vols gossip at Floyd's barbershop on Monday morning. Too bad there's not a way to stay connected with people via voice or the written word when you're away from home!

You talking about witchcraft?

Just one man's opinion but the decision should come down to which situation gives you the best position to win as many games as possible. These guys are playing tight because their coach is a tight ass and it just compounds when they know every mistake could cost the coach his job.

If you take that shadow off this team I believe they can go 7-5 and get a respectable bowl game.

This team should be 5-1 instead of 3-3 today. The only difference between the two records is coaching, HC in particular. So I am optimistic there will be a reasonably good roster left for the next guy, unlike the situation with Dools. Pulling the plug now will not affect recruiting. It's just a buyout cost versus loss of game revenue decision.

Will Muschamp has absolutely schooled Derek Dooley and Butch Jones in every encounter with them.

I would have fired Butch at halftime. Fulmer was right there. He could have coached the second half.

Makes zero sense to wait.

When a decision is so obvious to everyone it makes no sense not to go ahead and make it. What do we gain by waiting?

Tennessee will not win another game coached by Butch Jones.

I am guessing Currie was getting everything lined up the last two weeks, but there is a process in an athletic department. Kind of political and several have to sign off on it. I knew Butch wouldn't be fired after UGA because that's a rash decision. I expect Currie will let him get killed at Bama and then pull the plug.

Since the buyout is fixed for the season, it likely would be revenue-positive to go ahead and relieve him. Fans probably would perceive that as positive change and it could increase attendance at the remaining games.

Lol...that’s not the problem. Butch needs to fire himself.

I agree but his playcalling is pretty bad and we haven't scored a TD in 10 quarters. That is beyond embarrassing. He controls the offense and the offense isn't doing jack.

My brother in law is a big Bama fan (a very reasonable one). I’ve never watched a UT Bama game with him before but I may next week. I hate Bama and will be pulling for victory. But I know going in that if Butch is still coach we will only be getting 75 yards of offense and we will be giving up 600 on the ground in a 70-0 loss. So, I can just relax and enjoy time with family with that in the background.

Can't wait to watch Matt Cassel lose to the Andrew Luck-less Colts on Monday night all while the man who could save Tennessee football salivates over Chuck Pagano.
