He's extremely popular at WSU and Texas Tech fans are still irate about him being screwed at Tech.
Fans freaking dress like Pirates in the stands. What do you mean that he wouldn't get along with fans?
I go to multiple Texas Tech games each year and he's beloved in Lubbock to this day.
The refurbished stadium and new facilities there are all the result of Mike Leach and what he did there

Big difference in those fanbases and expectations are light years apart.

I want a coach whose teams overachieve rather than underachieve.
I want a coach that demands discipline and precision and can develop players.
That's Leach's record

I'm not worried about kissing babies or speaking engagements at malls in Memphis. I want a coach whose teams have swagger and know that they can hang 50 on any team in the country.
I'm tired of the underachieving with 4 and 5 star talent

Why? What makes you want to punch him? I get the concept, i guarantee 15 minutes with lyle, im belittling him, and with a goal in mind. Hes just the kind of guy that gets under my skin. I hate fake people, liars, egotists lacking substance, BS talking schmucks like Lyle. I also hate people that give themselves nicknames that dont fit. And thats common with guys with names like francis, and lyle. Id push his buttons till he said something that allowed me to slap him with less remorse.

So what about Leach makes you want to hit him?

So far Jo Allen and his fat little girlfriend really hates, i mean obsessively hates Mike Leach. I think i understand why. I could be off-base though Jo IS a girls name, possibly chunky one too.

And theres one or two others. But very little resistance to Mike Leach as our next coach.

Anyway back to my question....why you want to punch the pirate?

Btw no one should ever ever compare lyles two bit offensive single synapse slow firing neuron of a mind with that of Leach. Just makes you look so damn dumb to not be able to see the difference.

It makes it look like you cant read, dont understand numbers, and watch the games for pretty uniforms and the half-time performances.

Its a bad look.

What ML had been able to accomplish at TT and now at WS, he's proven at least to me he deserves a look. This guy can obviously coach, and get players to buy in.

Leach has a solid DC at Wazzu currently and their defense is really, really good...makes you wonder what his teams could look like if they had 4* talent on D with a a good DC as well as that high-powered O.

Can't explain it, his demeanor, the way he talks, what he says and the way he treats people. Just something about him rubs me the wrong way.

I agree about Butch by the way. I saw him fsce to face one time at the vol walk with my daughter. He came and shook our hands I looked him in the eye and his stoic look was obviously forced. I though to myself he is forcing a confident look but it looked very contrived to me. I was also surprised at how small in stature he actually is.

Urban went 12-0 and won a BCS bowl in his 2nd year after taking over a 5-6 Mountain West member Utah team.

Not the example you want to use for your already weak and hoke filled argument to hire a mediocre coach to replace our current mediocre coach

Also, do you know what the time tested formula is for winning championships?

Running the football and playing defense. Leach runs a pass first offense and has not exactly been know for having good defenses over his career

Let's see here....Spurrier while at Florida ran a pass first offense. How did that go? Avast yee swaps, it's time to add a pirate ship to the Vol navy. Oh and Leach would be able to recruit here as well as Kelley could. Neither one are very personable and only one of them has had a show cause.
