Recruiting Forum: Official UGA Pre-Game/Game Thread

I would like to see what happened with Miami class, South Carolina's and Clemson the year Dabo took over. Lsu got a number of bigtime commits after O was named permanent head coach

USCe's class actually got a bit better with Muschamp because Spurrier's recruiting had tailed off.

Not sure about the others. Doubt it matters that much though since their coaches weren't going to do much with the players they had.

Having the right HC makes a much bigger impact on a program than one recruiting class.

This is an opinion not based on any facts. No way to tell what would be best to maintain this class. LSU's recruiting class turned out great last year. 7th in the nation and 3rd in the SEC.

Butch is sucking so bad I'm not sure he can get a job that would significantly mitigate his buyout.

UGA is a better team than people realized. But we made them look so much better than they are. They deserved the W today and they will likely win the SECE. But the Vols have a lot of talent on this team, and there is no excuse for the way they played today, last week or the week before. Taking a L to the #7 team doesn't define Team 121. But the way they've played all year does. It's not a good look.

There's no way CBJ expects to survive this season. He's had that Dead Coach Walking look all week. It's going to be tough for the players to focus and play through that with the SEC schedule we have on deck.

He got SHUT OUT..... grounds for dismissal

Eh who knows. Charlie Strong lost to Kansas and never made a bowl and he's making 2 million per year now.

If Butch can get a job for half of that it's a nice chunk out of the buyout.

He is much more respected than Butch. Butch is the laughing stock of college football.

He also beat the hell out of Florida in the Sugar Bowl at Louisville

True. And he had a lot of ties to Florida, so that hire made sense for USF IMO.

My only point was that I think Butch can find something somewhere that will mitigate the buyout.

Probably would have a better chance at a good job if he's fired midseason before things go too far south.

What's BS?

We could lose them all?

Sure that's true

We could win them all but Bama?

Sure that's true as well.

No bs and you know it

Here's the thing Bruin, even if we win our other than Bama (which we won't), that still not good enough in year 5. The coaching is baaaad. No excuse for not having a QB ready.

Maybe before Texas he was more respected. By his third year there, the CFB landscape just felt more sorry for Strong than anything else.

Lots of disgraced P5 coaches end up with million dollar+ jobs though. Butch would be likely be a nice fit for whatever G5 school loses their coach to a P5 job this year. Not sure he'll be making 2 million though.

I don't think Currie fires Butch until after the Bama game. He won't let Butch off the hook for that impending blood letting.

2 years in a row changing coordinators has been a disaster. I agree it's BAD right now. All I am saying is let's see what it looks like in 2 weeks and beyond. Butch has done enough good to get to at worst finish this season.

If you really think this team could win 6 of the next 7 games, I've got some beachside property downtown Gary Indiana to sell you.

What have you seen from this team that makes you think they're capable of that? The 2015 team we saw have a similar turnaround played every game close, rarely turned over the ball, won the field position battle, and played disciplined football. With them you could see the possibility of an 8-4 finish and winning out after Bama.

Just not the case with this team. The defense has been decent enough, but the discipline, focus, and play making just hasn't been there.

He may have to go the coordinator route.
