I really make a conscious effort not to trash players. They're doing their best and don't need it. But I agree and have wondered out loud here why Boulware isn't starting. We've seen Boulware and Jones both perform well... but for some reason Jones isn't playing well at all this year. The aggression and balance we saw from him as a Fr seems to have been traded for size... without gaining productive power.
I suspect that DKjr is hurt. But Jones HAS lied and been caught in it before to cover up locker room issues. The most notable case is Hurd's "lower body" injury last year.
Yes, its happened before. That whole situation with Marquez North was bad.
Hurd and his concussion.
Not only injuries, but locker room stuff as well
Wharton/Bates situation.
Maggit and Bowles fight.
Hurd vs rest of team.
Croom and Bruce.
Multiple players in the 2 deep transfers. They saw right thru Butch and his BS.
The list goes on and on.
Im with you and De1 on this.
Where theres smoke, theres 🔥
Seen too much of this ish over the past 5 years.
Then CBJ is even more inept. Why lie when telling the truth will work just as well. Can't tell me the PR is that tough.
Basically walked out and quit as has Jennings but TKSr wasn't going for it and went to CBJ and other VFLs are trying to help figure this mess on the hill. We shall see Saturday. The kids are tired of the injury lies and coach speak as much as fans.
You have no idea, neither do I, what the personal issue is. Has it ever occurred to you that CBJ was asked to NOT say or allude to whatever the issue is?
Has it also not occurred to you that more than likely some in the media knew and where just asking to put CBJ in a tough spot knowing that he had been asked NOT to say anything?
So when asked, he said what he said to protect the privacy of a player. Good for him and bad for you all that think you need to know everything.
Fortunately none of this ever happens at any other schools. :shades:
Agree with everything you said. Except, I don't think the INT against IU was a bad read but just a poor throw. There was separation and a good throw would have been a TD.You are one of a dozen or more people to say this. My response followed by diversion or silence is always the same.
Prove it. But make sure you know what you're talking about. Focusing on an area because Jones' O's route trees put 3 receivers in that window... is not "staring receivers down".
I am willing to bet that he doesn't throw off his backfoot "every other throw"... or very often at all except when under pressure. EVERY QB throws off his back foot or without a good base some times. One of QD's better completions of the year was thrown off his back foot about 20 yds down field for a big gainer to Wolf. When it becomes a problem is when you do it and it turns into INT's because you get nothing on the throw.
The first INT vs UF was thrown off his back foot... toward a stumbling RB... with Jack Jones in his lap. Don't deny it before you go rewatch it. The INT on the goal line was a receiver not completing his route correctly. The ball was out quickly from a good base. The pick 6 was thrown flat footed and again with Jack Jones in his lap. There ARE situations when a QB cannot step into a throw but need to make a throw.
The INT vs ISU was a terrible play and read... but he neither threw off his back foot nor did he stare the receiver down.
You can prove yourself right. Since he does it "every other play" then it should be pretty easy to give the game, quarter, and time left on the clock of a few examples.
Most people just get mad. Some will go with the "everyone saw it" answer. Hopefully you aren't too proud to either prove what you claim or admit that it isn't true.
How am I butt hurt I just had players sign this past year. You all up saying this stuff and get proven wrong every time you say it. Grow up please I love UT but some of you hv to get you head out of the sand. Players are frustrated really bad. I'm thankful for guys like Buck and TKSr who can help these coaches kp this ship from sinking and kids off off Twitter blasting their frusttations.
Wtf is this quit the team bs! Damn it, I realize it isnt 1950 and these kids are soft as turds but come on...
Oh of course its all the "kids" fault. Too bad those kids dont have a boss or leader. We should hire someone to do that. Maybe even a group of adults, this group could be responsible for creating a positive, competitive atmosphere the kind that encourages commitment, hard work, and accountability.
The group couldbe structured in an almost military way where the kids are broken down into smaller groups with a leader, like a squad leader, hes responsible for his group, and accountability is maintained by having a chain of command where that leader answers to a guy above him and that leader answers to a guy above him. That way through delegation and oversight, no one leader is overloaded, and all the leaders answer to someone above facilitating accountability ensuring everyone does their job to maintain an efficient, self correcting and cohesive system.
If we could just implement that kind of leadership, then there would rarely ever be any justification for bashing or blaming the performance of any... well we can call them "individuals"...theres no reason to blame an individual, or kid, unless a breakdown in leadership exists, which is why you'd want that "chain of command" so that the man at the very top takes corrective action, or any blame, if necessary to ensure the proper functioning and well being of said system.
Guys i think this would work, it would also be cool if that group of leaders knew anything about football too, but that would just be bonus to the chaotic clusterphvck that we currently have with these soft kids.
