Where there's smoke there's fire?

when hired he said his system could adapt to QB skill sets. So don't think he believes that is an issue

He doesn't. I remember his first year here saying exactly what you just said. He's married to his offense. He's not going to adjust to the skill level of his QB. Which tells me a lot.

You guys realize we are out recruiting Alabama now right? Our young players are top 5 in the country (depending on your reference). If you think Clemson recruits arn't looking at what's happening at UT right now "just in case" you're wrong. The wheels are already turning.

No alasalami?

Anyway doesn't matter if they are not developed.

That was apart of his pitch to get Bray to stay.

So if all this is true....🤔 What is the short list of coaches that would actually come here?

I'm not sure the players came to play for Butch, they came to play for Tennessee, that could be the problem, if the players and coaches don't agree then nothing will work. Not even Luck. The coaches also have to be here for the players, calling ridiculous plays doesn't let the players have trust in coaches, if they know something is wrong and try to look to the sidelines for approval to audible, and get denial. How do you think the players will feel when the play fails?

If the coaches have lost them it's time for a change. If QD decides to disobey the coach then he will be pulled and another QB who will obey will get to play.

Better question is why doesn't he change his scheme to fit who's under center. Instead we get QD pulling it on 3rd and 5 and getting run down by a defensive tackle.

Because he believes that it will work, regardless of the personnel, as long as they buy in and commit to it. Look at his OC hires while at UT, he's going to ride that system right back to Div. II football.

If he got Bray to stay, he likely gets Hunter and CP to stay. Wouldn't have mattered as Bray would have been ineligible.

What would have made Bray ineligible? I think you might be referring to CP. I can just picture a tall 6'6" lanky QB running this zone read offense. :eek:lol:
