I would have ran it on first down for sure but in hindsights it clearly was the right call to pass it on that play

Once that pass was dropped, I think it was obvious we weren't finding the endzone in the air. Better to take our chances on the ground and put UF in a position where they have no TOs to work with at the end of the game.

The temptation to see the decision as black and white here is strong. Fact is Kelly was getting stuffed at the line quite a bit, still he runs with a purpose and in those circumstances there is a high probability that he just makes a play. JK is showing out as an incomparable runner. Love the way he runs with a purpose. Some of his stiff arms are flat out nasty. Hind-sight is always 20/20. Tough series.

I respect that but I think we can agree it is a 50/50 preference thing. It clearly wasn't the same kind of easy choice like running it from the 1 which should have happened in the 3rd QT

Jg is only a redshirt freshman, why leave and sit a year? He has plenty of time to play and would be in the same scenario...

Now the shoop issues, I can see...shoop.should be pissed bc they aren't doing a damn thing to help him

Yep. I think it's telling that 15/33 rushing plays were stuffed at the LOS. OL gotten whipped in this game IMO

Agreed here. He's the obvious choice if you're going for a P5 coordinator.

Venables is another candidate, but a lot of people think he's waiting on the KSU job to open up.

T isn't ready for this job. He needs more seasoning. If we hired him he better bring older we'll establised coordinators with him.

Just curious, do we know if Tee does all of the play calling and development of QB? I know the emergence of Darnold helps, but it seems the USC offense has gotten better since Helton has come on. Helton was the OC and QB coach.

He was a WR coach at the time and got an interview (all for show) for WR coach. He was hoping for that job + recruiting coordinator, but Butch had already chosen Azzani and Tee took offense at the way it all went down.

IIRC, Butch and the AD didn't even send anybody to pick him up at the airport for the interview and he had to take a cab to campus.
