I just wonder who the options would be for a replacement. I have faith in Currie but I'm concerned with the administration above him. If we're gonna fire Jones we just cannot replace him with another up and comer that we roll the dice on.
I'm not worried about that. I think the idea that we won't spend is slightly overblown. I know we didn't want to spend big to get Charlie Strong but from what I understand we paid what he wanted and Tom Jurich at UL came in with a better offer. It is what it is.
We paid pretty well to get Rick Barnes and that has been the last major hire.
Yeah I think I'm with you on that. I mean they're paying Jones over 4 and a half million so why would they not pay that to pull a proven guy. But I also struggle to think of who those "proven guys" would be.
Let's look at the positives: Oline looked solid/good, RB's are legit and there may not be a drop off at all there. TE's are pretty good, Ethan Wolf broke a Witten record yesterday. Defense as a whole looked improved. There's still a lot of football to play
MacIntyre, Gundy or Mullen, I think.
I'm not convinced someone like Tee Martin or Brent Venables wouldn't have higher ceilings but it would be a tougher sell.
Booster money could change that. I think Currie values boosters more than Hart. Hart wanted zero booster influence, still wanted there money.

Yep! Live on the sunny side. We only get to watch our team 12 or so times a year so might as well flush the negatives quickly and focus on the postives so that you can actually enjoy those games.
I tell you what if nothing else Tennessee football has been highly entertaining must see TV these last few years (for better or worse)!
I remember somebody saying that Hart basically ignored the boosters during the last search and thought for some reason that he could pull Jimbo Fisher. I think Currie would handle a football coaching search a lot better than Hart did.
