Watching the CBJ show now:

We need to be able to run the football in the redzone

We need to let the emotions cool down

They made a one in a million play

Two to three plays win or lose a game

We have to run the football in the redzone

We can't have presnap penalties

Unbelievable individual effort by Justin Martin on the rundown

Now on to 15 minutes of commercials - brb

They're an explosive defense - you have to wear them down

Our defense kept us in the game

Taylor highlights

Chandler highlighs - yards after contact

Rookie field goal - were always planning to use 2 kickers this year

Taylor recovers fumble - pride ourselves on hunting football

Halftime talk - stay the course

Tyler Byrd block to spring John Kelly for big gain

Back to Justin Martin's rundown and strip

John Kelly 18 yard run

John 34 yard Touchdown Run - Brett Kendrick key block

John Kelly 52 yard screen play - we call that walking the sidewalk

Qunten to Ethan TD pass

Rashaan Gaulden's interception - practice that everyday in practice

FG by Medley

We didn't do a good job with situational football today unlike in the first two games

Will to win - team has displayed a lot of heart - now how do you bounce back

Promises we will get some things fixed

Lots more commercials - brb

Lots of things to build upon - it's still situational football

Lots of positive things to build upon

It all comes down to us

Rashaan Gualden is awesome

Direct correlation in the way you practice and the way you play

1 out of 3 in redzone efficiency

Everybody wants to go back to on the 1 yard line and goal to go including myself

Micah Abernathy didn't come out of the game one time

Ethan Wolf interview - don't let one loss turn into another loss

John Kelly interview - Just want to take advantage of my opportunities

Rashaan Gualden interview - Nigel Warrior tipped ball led to interception - try to learn from our mistakes

More commercials - brb

Ask the coach segment:

What makes Rashaan Gualden so special?

Race to maturity - playing at a very high level - when Rashaan Gaulden talks everybody listens

Back at home against UMass - got to create energy for our fanbase

Bob we're going to fix this. We're going to get this right.

Lots of football yet to be played.

End of Butch Jones part of the show.

Promises we will get some things fixed??? We're going to fix this...going to get this right??? Lol!

Butch, I love everything you have stood for for our football program and how you have represented our beloved university. I wanted you to succeed here and retire a legend, because you do things the right way and seem to be also raising fine young men outside of football. I love that! I love my university being so well represented by my football team and my coach.

However, you have made these promises to fix things many many times before, and you don't deliver on your promises. So, stop making the promises. I wanted you to succeed, but you get so tight and puckered up in big games that you lose the ability to think logically. You have the power as HC to override every single play call on offense and defense. If you think we should run the ball on the goal line, then make your OC call a running play. If you think we should be in dime and prevent on the last play of the game, then make your DC do that. Call a timeout and set it up.

I wish you would finally deliver on your promises to fix things, but you won't. It's just a cover up. Thanks for everything you have done for our program. TN football owes you a lot for pulling us out of the ashes, but it has become clear you are too stubborn to take us all the way to the top of the mountain. Please prove me wrong. If not, good luck in your future endeavors.

I say make John Kelly a player/HC. He would have known what to do with that ball in the red zone, probably pick-up another taunting penalty too with his second gator chomp of the day. Wouldn't have mattered.

At 8-4 I think he's probably safe and if that's the case he should get an extension because if not the recruiting will fall through the floor. If you're Currie you have to lower the buyout on both ends in order to facilitate this.

Or you have a meeting and you ask him if there's a way you can meet in the middle on buyout money and move on amicably.

If he wins less than 8, there's no way anyone who isn't delusional could justify keeping him. Just can't wait too long to get rid of him. Thank him for his time and send him on his way to a job in the MAC with no pressure.

That's fair.

Gonna work like heck?

Gruden as head coach and Peyton OC. That way Peyton wouldn't have all the pressure and could just focus on the offense. We sign Trevor Lawrence and the #1 class in the nation. Would be nice…

Everybody will laugh but you could throw $20mil at Gruden, for he and his whole staff and it would be instant success with the current roster.

Seriously though UK might beat UF.

And Vandy UF going to be a great game.

I do think we should be better than USCe and Mizzou.

This group is tough:

UGA
Bama
Vandy
LSU
UK

Could go 1-4 in that group.

With the best being 4-1

And unfortunately is a pipe dream. Why? Because as you say, the administration won't spend the money (although we have plenty of it) on a big name hire.

But, too, it depends on how the losses accumulate. If you give him an 8 win minimum floor to keep his job, it seems to me he has to beat Georgia and South Carolina in that scenario as well. Because otherwise this team is staring at a 3-3, and at worst 3-4, start. At 3-4 you have to cut ties, in my opinion, because you don't want to give him an opportunity to win out and save his job.

Well many things about yesterday stunk (chiefly play calling) but I thought the offensive line played reasonably well, and much better than I expected (feared). 180+ yards rushing (without Dobbs) and only one sack allowed.

The pieces are there to still have a nice season. I thought this was an 8-4 or 9-3 team and when I look ahead, that still seems possible to me. We have the talent to play with anyone left on our schedule.

But the coaching is now officially a widely recognized problem.

It's all on Butch from here on out. Let's see what happens.

Go Vols!

If CBJ knew how to fix what's wrong, he would. What happened yesterday has happened before. We see the same issues and the same problems again and again and again. Listen to what former UT players are saying. Some are being nicer than others, but the underlying message is the same.

Oh you know how this board works. Beat Georgia and all is well until the next loss.

We have played 2 games where the last play of the game decided the game and in typical fashion posters can't get past that one play.

Which in the recent past was followed by 3 Ls in a row, and later Vandy.

Foundation of hope is eroding.

Solid take, as usual.

Why is NFL pregame analyzing our game?

Who cares. They pick on us, because we make it easy for them to pick on. Our fans blow up on social media, which shows that the media is getting the response they want. Still don't understand why anyone pays attention to what the analysts and media say anymore.

Off topic. Sorry to see that the "likes" are gone again after I spent all that time last week scheming to step up my "like" strategy.

Yep. The same mistake was made 7 times in the red zone just yesterday. 7 missed opportunities to fix that mistake in that game alone.

Agreed. This was the same game we pretty much always seem to play against ranked teams. Takes us a half to figure anything out, and then maybe enough things break right for us to win. Butch has been here 4 years and change. We know what he is at this point. The man is consistent if nothing else.

And he's certainly not the next Dabo.

Just give the job to Peyton outright and tell him he only has to work 20 hours a week. Let him fill his staff with his NFL coaching buddies and he seals the deal with every recruit with a 2-minute phone call while watching little brother Eli play on Sundays and eating chicken parm.

Here's the REALLY scary thing.... as funny as this is, it legitimately would work and we would have more talent than Saban in 3 yrs. Certainly couldn't be any worse than the current situation and the first two recruiting classes would be straight BOSS.

I just wonder who the options would be for a replacement. I have faith in Currie but I'm concerned with the administration above him. If we're gonna fire Jones we just cannot replace him with another up and comer that we roll the dice on.
