It's not necessarily a bad group to be getting tips from. At least they are paying attention. I watched the game in Taos, New Mexico, with a Lobo and Trojan fan. His comment: "one has to be a special kind of fan to be a Vols fan with all the emotional ups and downs." "Yep" he added, "a special kind of insane." Can't say I disagree.

Pass was on the QB. You can get him one way or another. With high passes or a by jumping his routes. He won't go deep.

All these damn checkdown/short passes and we have all this speed to go along with an O-line that can pass block well. 1 TD vs 3 picks and a pick 6...... Changes need to be made....

Do you really think that 1st play was a RPO, BTW? Did you watch it at all? The RB was blocking! There was no run fake!

How did JG "not do his job?" Are you gonna blame QD for the OL jumping offsides later in the game?

Biggest mistake there is not taking a timeout to let QD get his legs under him and assess what QB/playcall you should go with.

Not worth it. It's obvious he doesn't much about football. He just goes against public opinion no matter what. It's his only schtick.

You can what if this whole game all you want...if we catch 2 passes in the end zone we win. Coaching is the reason we lost plain and simple

Bottom line we take care of our business and We can still win the east. We've played 2 games decided by the last play ,won 1 lost 1 its football it sucks but it happens. No way the coaches thought they was going deep with .9 seconds left and a timeout. Tennessee was in cover 2 defending the 10-15 yd pass but Frank's was flushed from the pocket heaved up a prayer and the play was made same as us vs. Georgia last year except ours was by design. Mac made a boneheaded move by not calling timeout with .33 seconds and just letting the clock run can't imagine the repercussions had Butch done that.

The refusing to run the ball inside the 10 thing is overblown. Pretty sure that 1st down play was a run/pass option and QD choose pass. All week we heard talk about first down plays being run/pass option with QD making the choice. Obviously florida was selling out inside and unfortunately he choose pass.

After that JG didn't do his job and it wasn't so easy to call a run after that from the 6.

The other time from the 9 we obviously made the right call but Kelly dropped the damn thing. After that it's hard to call a run from the 9.

Failure to run the ball 3 times in the red zone given the circumstances in this particular game is 100% the reason we lost. It is 100% on the HC, and that is the reason why I am no longer giving Butch Jones the benefit of the doubt after yesterday.

Idk about Beard. I think he is still a good coach, but our plays and QBs aren’t doing the WR any favors. Now Canales... I didn’t like that hire at all. I started to come around during the off season but after seeing QD the last 3 games it has me questioning WTF he was doing with them during camp.

QB coach can't make him translate practice footwork to the game. Dude is scared without pressure being on him. He's backing out of the pocket and the DEs that are supposed to be getting pushed by are flying to him. And he's slow so he can't outrun anyone

There's really no reason to cut ties before late October/November-ish at the absolute earliest. Cut ties now and you're telling our players that you've given up on this season. Some might feel Butch was unjustly fired.


What exactly is the difference in making a coaching change now vs November/December?

Head start for the new guy in regards to the early signing period. You will see coaches getting canned earlier now because of that rule.
