Heat tremendously? Disagree. How many times did Fulmer win in the Swamp? The fact that this game is away and sees UT starting a SEC rookie at QB is in CBJ's favor, IMO.

The seat will heat "tremendously" if he loses to the likes of Vandy and USCe again.

Tired of people comparing UF of the Fulmer years to today. The swamp and UF are not hard to win against anymore. Coaches today shouldn't get a pass for losing to a bad team just because UF was a good team when Fulmer was here.

Palmer has definitely been wide open deep on several occasions in the first two games. Dormady overthrew him once in the GT game that would have been an easy walk-in TD.

He should have 3 TDs right now. He and Callaway the best WRs as a tandem we'll have for a while. QB play has to improve to take advantage of the talent at all the skill positions.

A junior QB shouldn't be treated like a rookie. IMO He knows what to expect from that environment he's been there before. Even on the sideline he knows what to expect.

It's hard to believe but the Gators haven't been the Gators since 2009. Muschamp had one good year. They had two Mark Richt-esque years with Mac so far and a whole bunch of mediocrity or downright bad football other than that.

If they continue on a downward path this year, their doldrums will reach at least a decade, as I don't see Mac getting fired until 2018, and the new guy will probably take a year or two to get things rolling (if he does).

Really hard to screw up a football team like the Gators, but it happened.

There is not a DC in the business that would want the stats put up on our defense in the GT game on their resume'. Those numbers were record breaking for a UT defense. Regardless if we started out bland and basic, very little if any changes were made throughout the game to stop their run offense. I get the philosophy of eliminating big plays, diminishing injuries, etc., but when were getting killed and losing the game something should have been done. This is what scares me.

No one is ever that Vanilla. People turning a blind eye to it are just lying to themselves.

How so? Did Shoop forget how to blitz? Did Shoop decide that blitzing wasn't the best way to defend? Did Shoop just completely forget how to coach a defense? Did our players just completely forget how to play defense?

I'm not lying or turning a blind eye. I'm trying to come up with a rational explanation.

We gave up 600+ yards. That's enough for me not to excuse a thing. And how can you be Vanilla and you're down by two TDs most of the game? Explain that, would you stay Vanilla long enough to lose a game? Who holds back that much?

But he is a rookie. He has hardly played and never played meaningful minutes. Just because he is a junior doesn't mean anything even though he has been in the system 2+ years. It's different to say a junior who has experience and one that doesn't. Remember Dobbs his first two years playing? He wasn't very good at times. But with reps and experience he became a great QB. Give him time and let's see what he can do.

Literally not ONE SINGLE PERSON on this site thinks we are where we need to be. Very few if ANY are certain that Butch can get us there. NO Vol fan ever is "ok" with 7-5 and 8-4 seasons.

The difference that you and some others obviously can't comprehend is that it isn't a black and white issue. There are extenuating circumstances. If we bomb this year most will be ready for a change. But, again, the difference is most reasonable people haven't already assumed that it's a foregone conclusion that we suck and have already gone 5-7. Reasonable people let things play out before jumping up and down screaming.

This 100%.

Remember, the game wasn't that important in the scheme of things, according to some.

The one good thing is Dormady had been to the swamp before so he knows the environment and what it's like. It shouldn't come as a surprise or shock him. If he didn't get rattled by tech in the 2nd half I don't think Gainesville will get him.

Callaway took that game over..... But this "rookie" QB talk needs to stop. He's been in the system 3 years. He should perform better than a freshman in a game. I don't care how much PT he didn't get.

No it was a team effort. Jk, the line, QD, Johnson all played lights out on offense in the second half. Someone had to get him the ball. I don't think hes preformed like a freshman. He looks like a player that hasn't played. He's got the tools and if he can continue to make good decisions he will be a good QB.

We are better than Florida. Period. We will win. Just don't play conservative Butch. Put your foot on the gas from the opening whistle and don't take it off until the clock hits 0

He better. I said in the game thread Florida is going to hit us with everything they've got to start. The offense will be playing with a chip and with us embarrassing them last year they will be wanting blood. So he better run it up and break their will.

That's a stretch. Even if that's Currie's benchmark, it'd be shocking if it was communicated to Butch. That would be borderline incompetent from Currie's standpoint, especially before the season.

We are the butt of jokes on SECN. They still think we are same caliber team as when Dooley coached.

No excuses. Butch had better have this team inspired to destroy an INFERIOR opponent.
