He could have. What has Butch done here besides recruit on an elite level, as did Les, to make you think that though? I'd like to think Butch could have but he just hasn't proven to this point that he's on that level.

What makes you think Les could do any better anywhere else? He often won in spite of himself. His best coaching move was recognizing that if you outtalent your opponents at virtually every position to the point where you can run it up the gut for five yards a carry, all you really need to do is run it up the gut over and over again.

Les recruited at a high level with in state talent at a high level. And even lost many in state, Louisiana, players to Saban. If we're talking recruiting.

He never out coached a sole and had the most players taken in the NFL draft through his years. And still lost 13-10 every damn big game. Stop.

You're full of doo doo. Lose every big game huh? What about the 07 SEC and national title games? 2011 SEC title game? Score to that game was 42-10. Butch has lost a few instate kids as well, hoss apple.

2-0, top 25 team, going into the SEC opener with a hated rival and we're probably going to win. . . let's spend all week talking about firing a coach who got us back to where we are.

You think Chizik is top shelf also. Miles is terribly overrated. Dude has no job and he's available and not that old.

He got fired for player development. Particularly offense.

He couldn't win with his QB or develop any kind of QB. No matter who was hired under him.

His in state recruitment had him winning games with athletes all over the field. That got drafted.

How's Butch done with player development in his time here? Pal, he won championships. Butch hasn't. He also beat Tennessee with a backup QB in the 07 title game. To your point of how he couldn't win with "his QB".

That's all past. You realize coaches decline?! Shoot, let's go hire Spurrier

I liked this posted. :good!: It's like we are more obsessed with firing our coach instead of pulling for the guy to have a successful season. Man, how times have changed.

Les Miles is your new McElwain. Neither of those coaches could do what Jones has done since he got here. The under-appreciation of Jones' effort is mind-bottling.

And what's the matter with that? I remember Coach Fulmer saying one time that he didn't like going into football game where he didn't have more weapons than the other team. Obviously meaning he wanted to win by out talenting everybody.
